Julio Taqueria is widely celebrated as a vibrant destination offering delicious, high-quality Mexican cuisine in a lively and colorful atmosphere. Many diners appreciate the entirely gluten-free menu, which provides a safe and inclusive dining experience for those with celiac disease or dietary restrictions. The diverse selection of flavorful dishes, including standout tacos, quesadillas, and popular churros, is frequently paired with excellent house-made sauces and inventive cocktails. While some visitors note that the venue can become loud and portion sizes may feel small relative to the price, the majority praise the friendly, attentive service and the overall welcoming environment that makes it a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike.
Incroyable!! two adults, two kids, easily the best tacos & quesadilla we have ever had. Been to a lot of Central & South American countries. This was amazing. The churros were so fresh & gone in 30 seconds. The dulche de leche was perfect pairing.
I had been looking for a nice Mexican spot in downtown Quebec & this was rated highly.
My wife, daughter & I visited on a hot summer day & were a little surprised to find the street this place is on completely ravaged by construction to the point where it's not traversable except on foot! I'm sure this will eventually pass but it's worth noting.
We made a reservation but likely didn't need to. We were greeted promptly & our waitress was very friendly. She even suggested getting different plates & sharing. My daughter got a pulled pork quesadilla, I got beef birria tacos & my wife got Al pastor tacos.
These are small plates with three small tacos/quesadillas on them. We also got guacamole to start which came with chips - it was tasty but the chips were a little bland & there weren't enough in the bowl to finish the dip, so we had to ask for more, which they happily provided.
We all split our meals up to share & agreed the quesadilla was best, with the cheese adding a lot to the dish. My beef birria tacos were great too (love the consommé) & we were expecting the al pastor to maybe be the best , but they were our least favorite. Still tasty though.
We finished off our meal with some freshly made churros & I've never met a hot churro I didn't love. This was no exception.
In the end, although not a'big'' meal, we thought the prices were fair & the food was tasty & we certainly left satisfied.
This used to be my go-to spot for Taco Tuesday everything on the menu is fresh, light, & tasty. I always looked forward to the tacos & the delicious sauces that came with them.
Unfortunately, my last visit was disappointing. There was a miscommunication with the waitress about the order, which led to a 30-minute wait for tacos. Mistakes happen, so I let it slide. But when the food finally came, she forgot the sauces & never checked back in. I waited another 15 minutes before giving up.
Meanwhile, two other tables came & left before us. No water refills, no check-ins just a complete lack of service. Waiting an hour & a half for 6 tacos with no sauce was too much. Sadly, I won't be returning.
Best tacos I have had in a very long time. Reasonably priced & the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is really nice but I hope the construction of the street gets finished soon. It was pretty busy when we went so make sure to have a reservation. Also, you can buy the sauces they serve! 10/10 would eat again anytime.
