What a perfect evening at Le Continental! As a solo diner I felt warmly welcomed. The service was impeccable, & the food was delicious & memorable.
From now on I want all of my food to be flambéed with flair!
Don't miss this superb restaurant when in Quebec City! The food is amazing, & we loved the flambé table side preparation! The staff is very professional in the Old World way. We tried several top rated restaurants during our stay in Quebec City, & this one was my overall favorite. Reservation is a must!

Le Continental is much more than a great restaurant: it is an experience. In addition to the excellent food, its main attraction is watching how the flambé dishes are prepared right at your table. With more than 90 years of history, it preserves a tradition that few places maintain, with a team that perfectly masters the art of cooking & flambéing in elegant copper pans.
It does not have a Michelin star, nor does it need one. Its true strength is the service & the connection it creates with its guests. In our case, Carlos, a Chilean who now lives in Canada, took wonderful care of us & made us feel at home from the very first moment.
We ordered a Caesar salad prepared at the table, an excellent chateaubriand finished on the spot with a delicious mushroom sauce, accompanied by a young Pinot Noir that paired very well. To finish, the house crêpes with maple syrup were the perfect ending.
If you visit Quebec, Le Continental is not just an excellent option for dinner: it is a gastronomic spectacle that is absolutely worth experiencing.
Classic French cooking with excellent food & an impressive wine selection. The staff are amazing, especially Andreas, who looked after us very well & made excellent suggestions throughout the meal. Definitely try the flambé dishes, where they are prepared & cooked right in front of you, adding a special touch to the experience. The maple whisky crêpe was absolutely outstanding & a highlight of the evening. The ambience is warm & inviting, making it perfect for a special night out. It is also known as one of chef Anthony Bourdains favourite dining spots, which speaks volumes about its quality.
This place is the last of it's kind, & should be celebrated for what it is.
We loved the idea, but had reserved ideas about the food, vs the experience of it all, which turned out to be completely unfounded.
It was a top notch food (8 nights eating at many top spots in town, & the food here was as good as any, & better value by portion size than most!)
Inredible service (ceasar salad was amazing & flambe diahes are must do)
The pomp & circumstance adds to it! Bourdain was right to be nostalgic about places like this, & we are all lucky it exists.
Seriously, go, get the Cesar, get at least one table side flamed dish, & get the maple pie!
If you are lucky enough to visit during lobster season (around May/June) the lobster is top, & the portions are heavy!
Excellente soirée passée au restaurant Le Continental ! Les serveurs sont très agréables & la nourriture y est très bonne. J'ai pris des escargots en entrée, & une entrecôte flambée à la moutarde de Meaux & Dijon en plat.
We have visited the restaurant in past years, & were left underwhelmed this time. The service was courteous & friendly, but we were disappointed with the low flames, & the presentation of our dishes were lacking, especially our two flambée desserts. The steak & duck were tasty, but be ready for heavy use of butter. Our favorite Alaska bomb dessert was not on the menu. It's just a shame that the menu is static & there's no attempt to be creative like so many restaurants in the city. We are considering not returning in our upcoming visits.
This restaurant is superb. The food Was wonderful. The wait staff was so attentive & helpful. Our food was finished flambe style at the table. Just terrific experience overall, thank you so much to all who participated in our evening.
