Le Continental is much more than a great restaurant: it is an experience. In addition to the excellent food, its main attraction is watching how the flambé dishes are prepared right at your table. With more than 90 years of history, it preserves a tradition that few places maintain, with a team that perfectly masters the art of cooking & flambéing in elegant copper pans.
It does not have a Michelin star, nor does it need one. Its true strength is the service & the connection it creates with its guests. In our case, Carlos, a Chilean who now lives in Canada, took wonderful care of us & made us feel at home from the very first moment.
We ordered a Caesar salad prepared at the table, an excellent chateaubriand finished on the spot with a delicious mushroom sauce, accompanied by a young Pinot Noir that paired very well. To finish, the house crêpes with maple syrup were the perfect ending.
If you visit Quebec, Le Continental is not just an excellent option for dinner: it is a gastronomic spectacle that is absolutely worth experiencing.

Everything was absolutely exceptional. The filet mignon was the best I've ever had-perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, & full of flavor. The lobster was equally outstanding, & every side dish was delicious & prepared to perfection.
What truly made the evening unforgettable was our waiter, Raphael. His professionalism, attention to detail, & warm, friendly service elevated the entire experience. He made us feel genuinely welcome & ensured everything was perfect from start to finish.
If you're visiting Quebec City, Le Continental is an absolute must. A world-class restaurant with outstanding food, impeccable service, & an unforgettable atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
I was really looking forward to Le Continental, but it ended up being the most disappointing meal of our trip.
I ordered the Dover sole, & while it tasted fine, the portion was shockingly small. At $89, it was honestly embarrassing. I've had Dover sole at many restaurants over the years, & I've never been served such a tiny portion for that price.
My husband ordered the Chateaubriand for two, & unfortunately it had an off flavour that neither of us enjoyed. It just didn't taste right.
Overall, the meal didn't live up to the restaurant's reputation or the price. We left disappointed & wouldn't return.
This is the kind of place I save for special occasions. The service was outstanding-friendly, professional, & attentive. I loved that they cooked the steak right at our table, which made the experience even more memorable. The food & desserts were both delicious. A friend recommended this place, & it definitely lived up to the hype!
This was the best meal of all the great ones that we had this week; I will recommend La Continental to anyone that I know visiting Quebec City; the service & food was excellent; we shared a local cheese plate to start; Rose had giant scallops & I had veal medallions & both were magnifique; the chocolate mousse & Black Forest cake that we had for dessert were great finishes to a memorable meal; well done by everyone on staff
