This place is awesome for vegans visiting Quebec. The two squash risotto was phenomenal & full of flavor. The poor man's pudding was heavenly & real treat. Our server was delightful & gave us excellent service & suggestions. She also had a lovely personality, very nice & welcoming. Highly recommend for vegans & vegetarians.
The food at Don Vegan is nothing short of delicious. The flavours are rich, strong, & actually vary from dish to dish. It is common for vegan dishes to have similar flavor profiles because they often rely on a common ingredient that makes up the substance of several dishes. Don Vegan is not like that. The Risotto & pasta, for example, share no common flavor profile & rival their non-vegan counterparts. They have a fixed price, 3 course meal available which has satisfying portions & comes at a great price, especially considering the location & common rates in tourist spots. The atmosphere is nice, though it is a smaller venue. We have been lucky to have been seated without wait, but when we were here in the summer, it was VERY busy.
Tried this all vegan restaurant that got written up in Condé Nast when highlighting different sites in Quebec City. I had seen this before reading the blog too when searching for vegetarian restaurants in Old Quebec City. Anyhow, great ambience with exposed brick walls, cozy with mood lighting. Drinks were very weak. Had meat substitutes with some of the dishes ordered - 2 squash risotto was excellent (had mock chicken in it) & spagetti bolognese which also had the mock meat. Food was tasty but super pricy.

On y est allés à 4 la veille de Noël & on a fait bonne chère ! Tout était exquis, on s'est pas aventurés sur les desserts car les entrées & plats étaient fort rassasiants. Les soupes thaï & autres risotto nous ont réchauffé le corps & l'esprit. En sus, les cocktails étaient fameux & le service était chaleureux.
Don Vegan was the perfect dining experience! We got the meatballs & artichoke dip for appetizers, followed by the gnocchi & risotto. Everything was delicious & presented beautifully, & the service was great. We will definitely return every time we're in Quebec.
We discovered this delicious gem just up the street from our hotel. We ate there 2 nights in a row. We tried the mushroom fettuccine, the risotto, the faux salmon appetizer, veggie burger, & artichoke dip, plus the Don raspberry cheesecake. Everything was succulent, & the staff were wonderful.
incroyable au restaurant Dine A Don à Québec, & je tiens à partager ma satisfaction ! Nous avons commencé notre repas avec le Bénédictin, un plat savoureux qui met en valeur des ingrédients frais & délicieux. Ensuite, nous avons goûté à deux risottos, chacun préparé avec soin & offrant des saveurs riches & réconfortantes. Les portions étaient généreuses & parfaitement assaisonnées. Pour accompagner notre repas, nous avons commandé deux cappuccinos, qui étaient crémeux & réconfortants, un excellent choix pour rehausser notre expérience. Nous avons également partagé une assiette Don, qui était un véritable festival de textures & de goûts. En dessert, nous avons craqué pour des pancakes. Ils étaient moelleux & savoureux, un délice qui a parfaitement conclu notre repas. Le service était également à la hauteur, avec Marie-Eve. Dine A Don est sans aucun doute un incontournable pour les amateurs de cuisine vegan. Je recommande vivement cet endroit à tous ceux qui cherchent à savourer des plats raffinés & délicieux à Québec !
My husband & I had a wonderful experience at Don. It is a beautiful corner restaurant & it totally gave me Europe vibes. There is a cool statue with a water feature right outside near the patio with a cobblestone looking street. Starting with the service, everyone here was extremely friendly & welcoming. From the hostess, server to the individual delivering our food, everyone was so kind! We were able to walk in without a reservation (on a Monday afternoon) & got a cute little table on the outside patio. They have cute little palm trees next to the tables too, to provide some privacy from people walking by outside. Their inside seating was also very cool & trendy. They have the coolest Looney Tunes mural on the inside of the restaurant, as well as cool plants on the ceiling. Even the bar is a vibe with a fun neon sign. It's definitely an "instagram-able" restaurant. We were having a hard time deciding on what to order, as everything sounded great (& they had also sold out of the Mexican style burrito special that we were eyeing). We started with the DONplings, which were so crispy & craveable! Our server then recommended the Mushroom Risotto, which was so rich & delicious. We also tried the Burrito Bowl, which was also yummy. The presentations here were very beautiful & add to the overall great experience. Overall, it was a great dining experience! I'd go back in a second! I'd highly recommend stopping by, even if you aren't vegan!
Oh wow! I will never pass up a chance to come back here. So amazing. Had the dumplings, the squash, risotto, & the fettuccine mushrooms. Very intense flavors, you will be amazed.
