Le Petit Château est très apprécié pour son atmosphère chaleureuse et accueillante, ce qui en fait un choix prisé des visiteurs en quête d'un repas relaxant au cœur de la ville. De nombreux clients soulignent l'agrément de la terrasse extérieure, souvent accompagnée de musique live, ainsi que le confort de la salle intérieure qui offre un refuge douillet. Le menu, proposant une variété de fondues, de crêpes et d'autres plats réconfortants, est fréquemment décrit comme satisfaisant et agréable pour les familles comme pour les groupes. We can here twice on our 4 day visit. We had the mushroom & cheese crepes & ham & cheese. It was so delicious. We came for dinner on our last night to try the trio fondue. To start you off with a cheese fondue served with bread, & you can add apple or vegetables with it. Then came the meat fondue & you can get the beef or chicken & this came with a baked potato & salad & 3 sauces. What was nice about this was that it was not oil but a beef bouillon. It had a really nice flavour. Then came the chocolate fondue with fruit & marshmallow. I highly recommend this trio fondue as we really enjoyed it. It was a lot of food & incredible. The staff there are great! They very attentive & made for a very nice experience. If ever we go back to Quebec we will be back for more crepes & fondue. Thank you so much!
I loved this restaurant, but I'm not sure if I would return due to the warning I will mention at the end. We ordered nachos & pepper fondue as appetizers, & they were delicious & quite generous portions. For our main course, we ordered the special poutine, the chicken burger, the La Dufferin crepe, & the La Saint-Louis crepe, which came with salad & a super delicious sauce. The waitress was super friendly & attentive, & we really loved her service. The only thing that made us uncomfortable was the way the host treated us when we arrived. He was always very rude to us & other customers. The food is divine, & the waiters do an excellent job. I think they should improve the restaurant's first impression.

Pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! I had a quick visit on a very rainy & atmospheric night & was very pleased with the experience & food! Great ambiance inside the restaurant & the servers were friendly & attentive.
The food was delicious, the summer salad (I think was the name?) was massive & probably the biggest & best salad I've ever had & at a stellar price! The escargot delicious & the poutine was nicely prepared as well. I had a great time here & highly recommend stopping by!
I can not say enough good things about this restaurant. We had the trio fondue & crèpes & it was fantastic. The server was engaging & attentive. Plus, its the only fondue restaurant in the area.
Crepes & fondue - what's not to love! Great atmosphere & attentive staff - William joyfully encouraged our attempts at conversing in French & made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Cheese fondue with a side of sliced apples & a ham & cheese crepe (along with beer & wine) was just right for our family of four. Glad we stopped by after a morning of touring - we really enjoyed our visit!
We initially visited this restaurant in 2022 & provided a glowing review.
Recently, we returned to Quebec City over the weekend & decided to revisit.
However, the experience was significantly disappointing. It is unclear whether the restaurant has changed ownership, but the quality has deteriorated significantly.
The cheese fondue resembled solidified fondue cheese found in supermarkets. The bread appeared to be approximately two days old, neither too hard nor too soft, with a lingering aftertaste. The overpriced apples we ordered were soggy & soft.
Moving on to the main course, the fondue pot & heating apparatus were outdated, preventing the fondue stock from boiling & consequently hindering the cooking of the meat. The fondue was served with a warm, not hot, baked potato containing a single, packaged square of butter, a microscopic green salad, & a small amount of dipping sauce.
For the final course, we were served a chocolate fondue with fruit. The serving consisted of four grapes, three strawberries, some bananas, maraschino cherries, & mini marshmallows. The chocolate fondue had a burnt flavour, which persisted despite the waiters bringing out a fresh bowl.
The only positive aspect of the evening was the attentiveness of the wait staff. The young men serving us were courteous & professional.
In summary, while there are excellent restaurants in Quebec City, this establishment falls short. On a Saturday evening, the restaurant was empty. The decor appeared to have remained untouched for over three decades, accompanied by a musty odour. The utensils & fondue pots were outdated, lacking any attention to detail. The meal was excessively expensive for the quality of the food. The presentation & the quality of the dishes were abysmal. The cheese & chocolate fondues were particularly disappointing. The soft drinks, served in cans, were priced at $5 each. Very limited selection on the children's menu so we ordered from the full price adult menu for the kids.
I was deeply disappointed, especially since I had recommended this restaurant to eight of my friends who were with us.
Our previous experience was far more positive. I doubt we will be returning for a third time.

Lots of mixed reviews for this restaurant. We had a wonderful time. We were two families with kids. The service was excellent & the food was on point!! My favorite was the cheese fondue.
For dessert we experienced their maple fondue which for me was a first. Excellent!!
Everyone had fun & our meal was very reasonably priced.
Friendly staff, good service, great food!! Looking forward to coming back in the future.
cozy restaurant in the city center. the staff was very attentive, the fondue was delicious, the nachos were okay, the guacamole lacked some flavour, but the most delicious were the crepes. the maple butter one was outstanding & the nutella & banana was also amazing! the prices are high but what its expected for quebec.
While in Quebec this summer, we visited the restaurant "Le petit château". Quite a controversial place with its pros & cons... + Pros - good location, sitting on the terrace framed by fresh flowers, live music. We were served by a very attentive, polite, cheerful & kind girl. - Cons - mediocre food , outdated interior . We ordered : - Chicken Poke Bowl - Poutine I would like to wish this bistro good luck, change the outdated interior, improve the menu, then this bistro has a chance to become one of the best in the city, conquer a larger audience & please not only the locals, but also the guests of the city.
