While the atmosphere is often described as warm, cozy, and reminiscent of Paris, the service is generally highlighted as efficient and friendly, though some guests have noted occasional inconsistencies in seating or menu preferences. Overall, it remains a popular destination for those seeking a reliable and traditional meal in a beautiful setting.
Bistro food at its best. Staff are bilingual & friendly. Reservations are preferred during tourist season. Easy access. Very nice location. Rustic ambiance. Competitive pricing. Table d'hote is best value for your money.
Great food, service & vibe here. Like the staff here who has a strong sense of humor! Highly recommend the duck leg & salmon. Steak & fries is great too. Our waiter Roch was great giving us the tips of their favorites.
Services was very friendly & helpful. Food was a hit & a miss, we tried the poutine however was quite dry, we also tried the cotes ( ribs ) which was cooked perfectly & had a fantastic sauce.

The staff is efficient. The food very good. We found the table d'hôte menu to be good value for the bucks. We enjoyed our evening here. Fries are a relief too be real after all we found in other parts of Canada under the label fries.
We made a reservation & they were very accommodating & was super nice. Our waiter, Marvin was fantastic, observant & friendly. Most of us got the set menu & felt the dish was worth its price. The dessert *delicious*
Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Value: 3.5 Stars Overall: 3.88 Stars During our visit to Old Quebec City, we decided to try L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean, managing to get a table without a reservation after a short wait. The location is bustling & perfectly captures the touristy vibe of the area. We started with the soup of the day, which was absolutely delicious. For the main course, I opted for the Duck Leg Confit. I requested a larger salad instead of the usual French fries, & I was not disappointed; the duck was flavourful, juicy, & beautifully cooked. The'Sunset on the Beach' cocktail was a delightful surprise with a robust kick of alcohol, making it a memorable part of the meal. For dessert, we had Crème Brûlée accompanied by biscuits. While the crème brûlée was decadent & thoroughly enjoyable, the biscuits were unfortunately very dry & did not complement the dessert well. A note on pricing - being in a tourist-heavy area, the prices at L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean are somewhat above average. However, the quick service & attentive waiter helped justify the cost & added to the overall positive experience. While the meal had its highs, the mixed quality of the desserts & the slightly premium prices are worth keeping in mind. This spot has great potential, especially for those looking to savour a taste of local cuisine in a lively setting. kellychan360
7oz steak Table d'hote $43, you can choose fries, salad or cooked vegetables. I had $42 duck confit (2 pieces) Table d'hote. It's not on the menu (I just had to ask). Fresh salad. Attentive service. It's a bit noisy in the restaurant, but good atmosphere. 15%-18% & 22% tipping option on credit card machine.
Restaurant has a prime location. However, food leaves something to be desired. The signature steak is very average, nothing special about the sauce either. The texture of the meat is poor, chewy & without a nice crust. The salmon dish is outstanding, but is the only dish that is above my expectations. The back rib is too lean & lacked sauce. The poutine there is literally the worst poutine I've ever had, even worse than the McDonald one. The secret sauce does not pair well with the fries, & the cheese are large blobs of frozen madness. Worst poutine I've had. Unacceptable for it's price point...
