Just wanted to thank Laura (hopefully this is the correct spelling) for her wonderful attitude & being an absolute professional. She definitely made our night & we left smiling & admiring her koz apart from the food quality, having a great server could set the tone of the night. Certainly recommend this place if you are after a delicious meal & good service!
Food is delicious. Steak is cooked to perfection. We went here twice in three days & had the steak dinner that they are famous for - includes soup, salad, steak & homemade French fries, protiferoles with chocolate sauce & coffee. I would recommend a reservation otherwise you may have to wait quite a while.
The food was well-made & the portions were also great. This restaurant is almost exactly like one I was in Zurich. The service was long & they made mistakes here & there. It might have been an off date for them. I still highly recommend it.

It's in the center of old town. The staff was great & patient. It's famous for steak & fries. Strongly recommend going for the prefix deal. With an additional $14 Canadian dollars you get salad, tea/coffee, & dessert. The steak was tender & the fries were crispy.
L'entrecote était délicieuse & la sauce à la moutarde m'a agréablement surpris! Je recommande chaudement!

We had the steak at L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean & it was absolutely incredible! It was perfectly cooked-tender, juicy, & packed with flavor. The signature mustard sauce was delicious & went so well with the crispy fries. The service was excellent-very friendly, attentive, & professional. The cozy French bistro atmosphere added a lovely touch to the whole experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Québec City
Ce soir, j'ai choisi le Saumon du chef & ses garnitures. Un excellent choix. Il était vraiment très bon. Accompagné de différents légumes sur une purée de navet, d'un riz basmati & d'une sauce au beurre. Je le recommande à tous. Vous ne serez pas déçus.
Wow! Je suis allée dîner avec une dizaine de collègues & le service était plus que rapide. Les serveurs étaient très courtois & s'assuraient que l'on ne manquait de rien. Nous avions pris le menu midi & les portions étaient parfaites. C'était excellent, cuisson du steak parfaite & que dire des profiteroles. Wow! Rapport qualité-prix excellent compte tenu que le vieux-Québec est une trappe à touristes. Le seul hic, c'est que les autres clients parlaient fort comme pour enterrer la musique de fond. Malgé ça, recommande. C'était la première fois que j'y allais bien que je travaille dans le coin. J'y retournerai assurément.
Nous avons été servis par Marvin. Un excellent service dans une ambiance très agréable. Mon entrecôte était plutôt brûlée d'un côté. Après l'avoir mentionné à notre serveur, il a refait faire le plat, & tout est arrivé parfaitement cuit & dans un délai très respectable. Le service était irréprochable & la nourriture était délicieuse. Je recommande fortement & nous y retournerons assurément.
I wouldn't recommend this place if you're a picky eater like me. I only ended up here because the restaurant I originally planned to visit was closed, & this one was nearby & convenient.
It was my last day in Quebec, & up until this point, I'd had nothing but amazing food. Unfortunately, this place broke that streak. Honestly, it reminded me of eating at Applebee's back in the U.S.-a place I never go.
A gentleman greeted me & seated me in the center of the dining area, even though there was a perfect table for two by the window that was available. He greeted me in French, & I responded with'Hello.' I had the feeling he didn't appreciate that. As I sat there, I realized this restaurant catered more to locals.
The server seemed busy, & I had to wait quite a while for both her & my food.
The meal was underwhelming. I ordered a set course, & the soup was the only thing I truly enjoyed. The main was duck poutine with a pile of French fries, which were soggy & overcooked.
The dessert was disappointing too-frozen éclairs. The coffee was bitter & tasted burnt; I couldn't even finish it.
The bathroom is completely filled with the pungent smell of harsh chemicals & has an industrial appearance.
