We were thankful to be accommodated on a busy Friday night for our party of five. We started with a basket of bread & butter. The kids' menu was simple, & the kids actually finished their pasta with tomato & meat sauce-so that's a win! I had a salad topped with shredded duck, which turned out to be a surprisingly good combo.
We also tried the entrecôte set menu, which included soup, salad, a 9 oz steak, profiteroles, & coffee or tea. Overall, we enjoyed our family meal, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Some suggestions: offering freshly baked bread would elevate the start of the meal. Presentation could also be a bit nicer-everyone takes photos of their food these days! The soup was great, but the salad dressing from the set menu wasn't very tasty. The steak, however, was cooked perfectly-we ordered both medium & medium rare, & we'd definitely go with medium rare next time. It came with fries, which unfortunately had no seasoning at all. Just plain fries, which felt like a missed opportunity.
The dessert of two profiteroles with vanilla ice cream & chocolate syrup was a nice way to end the meal. Coffee & tea were included, but the coffee tasted burnt-like the end of the pot. I didn't bother asking for a replacement since the overall experience was still pleasant. Service was exceptional - busy night but very attentive to our needs.

L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean est une adresse incontournable pour les amateurs de steak, avec une ambiance chaleureuse & conviviale qui rend le repas encore plus agréable. Le steak était parfaitement cuit & accompagné de leur sauce moutarde signature, une explosion de saveurs qui semblait infusée avec le jus de la viande-tout simplement délicieux !
Le menu Table d'hôte est une excellente option, offrant un repas complet & bien équilibré avec une savoureuse soupe aux champignons, une salade fraîche, un steak tendre & un moelleux au chocolat fondant en dessert.

The a la Carte menu was good. Steak, salad, soup & bread for $35 (195g). Shareable size. Sangria Blanche was ok. Couldn't taste the alcohol. The Expresso martini was great. Overall 7/10.

Bonjour, je tiens à faire ma critique de ma visite. Nous avons pris la table d'hôtes.
1- le potage au navet & panait: plutôt délicieux mais j'aurais aimé avoir une texture un peu plus épaisse. 7.5/10
2- la salade.. désolant, je regrette avoir mit cela dans mon corps, ce fut un gaspillage xe l'espace précieux de mon estomac. Il manquerais par exemple du parmesan ou concombre peut être pour ajouter de la profondeur au saveur de cette salade 1/10
3- steak frites 6/10 j'aurais aimé avoir une coupe d'avantage tendre mais tout aussi gouteux, les frites était correctes
4- le dessert omg! Profiteroles avec crème glacée à la vanille dedans & énormément de coulis au chocolat! WOW! UN MÉCHANT BON DELICE! j'ai adoré le dessert c'était riche & goûteux pas trop trop sucré mais juste assez. Soyez fier 9/10
5- café il était ordinaire mais bon 7.8/10

Excellent service ! Nous avons pris la table d'hôte ! La soupe était bonne la salade avec la laitue bodton cest vraiment pas tres winner niveau texture & la vinaigrettes manquait un peu de saveur pour ce qui est des Steak il en avait un quil avait manquer la cuisson mais le serveur s'en est vite aperçu ! Le steak est sans assaisonnement par contre je trouve ça un peu fade mais la sauce vient rééquilibrer le tout un peu!
The food... whatever you do, do not get the 3 course Entrecôte dinner. Get a different dish. (1a) the bread was good (1b) the salad has no flavor & the walnuts were stale (1c) the carrot soup was ok (3) the main dish tasted mass-made & mediocre. We asked for medium-rare steak & it was raw. We had to ask 2 more times to make it more well done. After the 1st time it was still raw. After the 2nd time it was very well fried & charred. The fries were sub par. The meat has no seasoning & no flavor. (5) The dessert was good. Side Note: the salmon rilette appetizer was pretty good The service was acceptable. Nothing to write home about. Toilet paper missing in one of the bathroom stalls... it was not replaced for 1.5 hours before service & after service. Dissapointing food. Service ok. Just meh. Would not want to go here again.
We were pretty disappointed in this experience. This restaurant is half fancy half fast food vibe. Meaning the decor is fancy but they give paper menus as a table cover & napkins instead of a serviette. Our steaks plainly weren't good, they had no flavour whatsoever, definitely missing some spices. The salad was inedible. dessert was Ok again nothing had much flavour. The soup of the day was the tastiest thing on the menu ! Service was good.
L'entrecote Saint Jean demeure un classique où il fait toujours bon d'y retourner. La qualité est au rendez-vous mais les pièces de viande ne sont plus comme avant. N'ayez crainte, elle somt quand même très bonnes. Le potage est absolument délicieux, la salade aux noix de Grenoble très bonne & les profiterols n'ont plus besoin de présentation. Le service reçuce soir par notre serveuse était tout simplement parfait: rapide, sympathique & convivial. Chapeau! On y retourne? Bien sûr!
Vegetable soup was smooth with a good scent of carrot. However, the salad was very mushy & too nutty from the walnuts. Steak was too tough & cooked too much for a medium rare, but the sauce was great. The dessert was okay. You get what you pay for it here.
We stopped for lunch. This place is very popular so we had a 20 minute wait. The food was fresh. Good value for price. My starter was chicken liver mousse which came with Melba style toast, sweet pickles red onions & julep carrots on lettuce. This was followed by the duck salad & the portion was generous with a good variety of vegetables, black olives & croutons. The duck had a small amount of bacon bits mixed in. The salad came dressed with just the right amount of dressing. It was very enjoyable & the waiter was very attentive. My friend had the entrecôte which was cooked to perfection.
