Bonjour, je tiens à faire ma critique de ma visite. Nous avons pris la table d'hôtes.
1- le potage au navet & panait: plutôt délicieux mais j'aurais aimé avoir une texture un peu plus épaisse. 7.5/10
2- la salade.. désolant, je regrette avoir mit cela dans mon corps, ce fut un gaspillage xe l'espace précieux de mon estomac. Il manquerais par exemple du parmesan ou concombre peut être pour ajouter de la profondeur au saveur de cette salade 1/10
3- steak frites 6/10 j'aurais aimé avoir une coupe d'avantage tendre mais tout aussi gouteux, les frites était correctes
4- le dessert omg! Profiteroles avec crème glacée à la vanille dedans & énormément de coulis au chocolat! WOW! UN MÉCHANT BON DELICE! j'ai adoré le dessert c'était riche & goûteux pas trop trop sucré mais juste assez. Soyez fier 9/10
5- café il était ordinaire mais bon 7.8/10

Excellent service ! Nous avons pris la table d'hôte ! La soupe était bonne la salade avec la laitue bodton cest vraiment pas tres winner niveau texture & la vinaigrettes manquait un peu de saveur pour ce qui est des Steak il en avait un quil avait manquer la cuisson mais le serveur s'en est vite aperçu ! Le steak est sans assaisonnement par contre je trouve ça un peu fade mais la sauce vient rééquilibrer le tout un peu!
If you're looking for the best steakhouse in Quebec City, L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean is an absolute gem! My family & I visited on a recommendation, & from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special.
Despite being walk-ins, the host found us a table right away, even with our toddler in tow. The staff was exceptionally kind, making us feel welcome & comfortable. Our server, Rodolfo, was outstanding—he provided impeccable service, balancing efficiency with genuine warmth.
As for the food—perfection! ? Their signature steak with legendary sauce is what makes this place iconic, & the Table d’Hôte is not just affordable but absolutely divine. Every bite was a taste of authentic French bistro excellence, & it's clear why this restaurant stays so busy!
If you’re in Old Quebec, do yourself a favor—go to L'Entrecôte Saint-Jean! 10/10, highly recommended! ?

food was pretty mediocre, fries were not even as good as mcdonalds (dry, not crispy). sauce was less flavoured than i expected & steak was criminally underseasoned although cooked okay, though leaned towards the rare side. ambiance was comfortable but louder than i expected, but understandable since they were packed. overall not worth the price tag, server didn't check in to see how our meal was. i get that it's a cheaper place to get steak but you can find better food someplace else for the same price. won't be returning
The food... whatever you do, do not get the 3 course Entrecôte dinner. Get a different dish. (1a) the bread was good (1b) the salad has no flavor & the walnuts were stale (1c) the carrot soup was ok (3) the main dish tasted mass-made & mediocre. We asked for medium-rare steak & it was raw. We had to ask 2 more times to make it more well done. After the 1st time it was still raw. After the 2nd time it was very well fried & charred. The fries were sub par. The meat has no seasoning & no flavor. (5) The dessert was good. Side Note: the salmon rilette appetizer was pretty good The service was acceptable. Nothing to write home about. Toilet paper missing in one of the bathroom stalls... it was not replaced for 1.5 hours before service & after service. Dissapointing food. Service ok. Just meh. Would not want to go here again.
Everything about this place is absolutely stellar. From the lighting & ambiance, to the food...it was all next level. Not only is the food delicious, but if you opt in to their steak & fries meal, you get an entire 4 course meal for only $38/person. Incredible!
Une expérience exceptionnelle chez Entrecôte Saint-Jean a tout coups ! L'excellence de la cuisson de la viande est tout simplement rare de nos jours, & cet établissement l'a parfaitement maîtrisée. Chaque bouchée de l'entrecôte était tendre, juteuse & cuite à la perfection, exactement comme demandée. Le service est irréprochable, avec une attention minutieuse aux détails qui rend l'expérience encore plus agréable. Les serveurs & maître d'hôtel sont accueillants, professionnels, & toujours disponibles sans être envahissants. C'est un endroit où l'on sent que l'on est valorisé en tant que client. Une adresse à recommander vivement à tous les amateurs de steak frites & de service de qualité. Bravo à toute l'équipe pour maintenir ces standards élevés dans un secteur où cela devient de plus en plus rare !
It was my last night in Québec City & I was looking for a good steak. Google directed me to this wonderful restaurant, & it did not disappoint! It was quite crowded (6 PM), & I was seated at the bar. The bartender did a fantastic job taking my order, serving up a good drink & making sure all my needs were met even though he was super busy. The food came out in a timely manner, & I was very satisfied. The chocolate profiteroles were my favorite, along with a good cup of coffee. The prices were very reasonable & I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
