Across 4 entrees, 3 mains, & 2 desserts, every dish was perfectly conceived & executed, with many careful, delicate touches. Not a single dish fell flat or failed to convey a sense of purpose & balance. I have been to 2* & 3* Michelin restaurants that failed to be this consistent throughout the meal. An absolute gem of a restaurant.
Excellent repas , les entrées à partager & assiettes principales étaient très très bien réussies au niveau des composantes & saveurs , flétan & palourdes en autres , dessert crème caramel sublime & des vins de tous les prix , au final une expérience gastronomique inoubliable.
Quelle soirée magnifique! Il est rare de pouvoir dire que l'on se laisse surprendre à chaque bouchée, de l'entrée au dessert, mais chez Melba, c'est exactement ce qui se produit. La créativité & la finesse des plats sont tout simplement exceptionnelles.
Nous avons passé un moment hors du temps entre amis. Tout était réuni pour faire de ce souper une réussite:

Un immense bravo à toute l'équipe du restaurant Melba pour votre passion & votre accueil. C'est une adresse coup de coeur à Québec que je recommande sans aucune hésitation!
Tout était simplement incroyable. De l'accueil, jusqu'au dessert un expérience phénoménale. La qualité de la nourriture & de la présentation, la connaissance de l'équipe à fait en sorte que nous avons passé une soirée mémorable!

Je suis aller pour noël le 27 décembre & je n ai pas été déçue. Le tartare de cerf as été mon coup coeur avec des textures magique & le dessert la roussette réinventer une explosion de joie & de bonheur dans la bouche.le service est plus que parfait l endroit est chaleureux . This place as a mention Michelin 2025. U need to reserver 1 to 2 month in advanced & it was a blast. I give it 6 stars the place is cosy & relax. The service is top. My favorite plate is a deer tartare with lot of texture & tasty the roussette. Dessert was delightful gave me Joy & happiness!!!❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?❤?
The food was honestly pretentious & was quite bland. I only enjoyed a handful of dishes, mostly the desserts. Service was quite slow, but the ambiance & servers was great. Not worth the price at all.

We like to travel & eat well, which sometimes means ordering a little too much food & drinking a little too much wine. At Melba, that was a great life choice.
The space is small, calm, & easy to talk in. The entire staff speaks perfect English & French & effortlessly switches between the two. Throughout the meal, our waitress, the mixologist, & even chefs from the open kitchen explained each dish as it arrived. Friendly, engaging, & clearly passionate without ever being stiff or pretentious.
The wine list is extensive & refreshingly reasonable. We skipped cocktails but watched the mixologist at work & immediately regretted our restraint. With guidance from the staff, we ordered multiple courses, including a warm goat cheese salad, Parisian gnocchi, & a beautifully cooked piece of fish. Everything was excellent.
That salad, though. Unforgettable. The kind of dish that lives rent free in your head & makes you plan a return trip. The gnocchi were so good I cleaned the plate with bread & felt no shame. Dessert was rich, clever, & completely unnecessary in the best way.
The open kitchen is a joy to watch. The team works like a single, well-oiled machine. No ego, no chaos, just great food & great people.
Melba may be Bib Gourmand, but this is Michelin star level cooking. We have eaten at one & two star restaurants around the world. Melba belongs in that group. We will be back.
Nous aimons voyager & bien manger, ce qui mène parfois à manger un peu trop & boire un peu trop de vin. Chez Melba, c'était une excellente décision.
La salle est petite, calme & agréable. Tout le personnel parle parfaitement français & anglais. Tout au long du repas, la serveuse, le mixologue & même des chefs sont venus présenter les plats avec enthousiasme & naturel.
La carte des vins est vaste & très raisonnable. Nous avons partagé plusieurs plats, dont une salade de chèvre chaud mémorable, des gnocchis parisiens exceptionnels & un poisson parfaitement cuit. Tout était excellent.
La cuisine est ouverte & l'équipe fonctionne comme une seule entité, fluide & efficace. Aucune prétention, juste beaucoup de talent.
Melba est Bib Gourmand aujourd'hui, mais l'expérience est clairement du niveau d'une étoile Michelin. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.
L'un des meilleurs soupers que j'ai eu dans ma vie , très bon restaurant . Ma conjointe & moi avons passés une très belle soirée. Nourriture de qualité . Tout était bon, les entrées , les repas principaux , le dessert ... les vins, l'espresso martini , TOUT . Place très''cozy'' , ambiance avec lumières tamisées . Le service était incroyable , les serveurs(euses) expliquent les repas de a à z. Ce n'est pas donné , mais ça en vaut tellement la peine. J'y retournerai assurément.
BEWARE: There is road construction happening all around the restaurant. Travel to the neighborhood & parking is an absolute nightmare right now. Prepare to park a few blocks away.
We had high hopes for our meal at Melba, & while the meal was very good, there were a few things that just left us feeling unfulfilled. While we were right on time for our reservation & were promptly seated, it became clear pretty quickly that the kitchen was in a routine to serve based on a seating system, taking a certain number of folks during specific time slots...which is fine but not practical given the size of the restaurant. It's not a brigade kitchen & unfortunately it tainted our experience. We didn't receive a morsel of food for nearly an hour after being seated. Part of the problem was the way service was presented. While my wife & I both agreed that the service was excellent overall, we couldn't understand why the waitstaff needed to provide an explanation for every single item on the menu. It's unnecessary to describe every single preparation in detail to every single table. It's simply slows down service & makes folks anxious. I guess there is a case to be made that descriptions will save time in answering questions, but running through the entire menu?...I don't see the need. When our server finally got around to our table, to speed up ordering, & hopefully getting some food to eat, we made sure to let her know that we didn't need her to describe dishes we wouldn't be ordering. The food is executed at a very high level. The very small menu is strangely written & frankly confusing...& if you're a vegetarian, you should probably consider going somewhere else. The'Appetizers' are more an Amuse Bouche...meaning you're only going to get just a few bites. The Basque-Style egg with Red Tuna Rillettes & Basil is essentially a deviled egg...ONE egg, split in half filled with a tuna rillette. It was fine.'On the Plate' might be entree's...or they might be side dishes or in our case, another'Appetizer'. The Provençal-style tomato, parsley, parmesan & garlic scapes was a larger plate & very good. Scallops, cucumber, grilled nectarine & coriander cream was another delicious'appetizer'. The Confit halibut, zucchini tian & saffron beurre blanc was a star but unfortunately the Dauphiné ravioli & corn consommé with yellow wine just didn't fulfill its promise. The pasta was undercooked & the flavors in broth were difficult to pick up. Desserts were fine with the Rice Pudding, plum jam, caramel & coconut ice cream being the winner in my mind. The meal was very good as you'd expect from a Michelin Bib Gourmand, but our experience seemed just a bit stuffy for the environment. The dining room was very loud & frankly the music playlist seemed strange & out of place. I'm being picky, I know. But after spending nearly $300 for food, drinks, tax & tip, we left wondering what Melba was trying to achieve...the food & service are worthy of a very good fine dining room but the rest felt more a bit too'neighborhoodsy' for the prices.
