we stumbled on Ophelia while looking for a weekend brunch spot. What a great find! The lazy Sunday brunch vibe begins the moment you're seated on the outdoor patio & every whim is catered to by incredible servers. The food was foody, the mimosas were flowing, & the service was memorable (thanks Maxim)...so much so, that we booked dinner the same night!
For dinner we sat inside in a modern, artsy-aesthetic dining room, where again the service was professional & friendly & the seafood & steak was high end & perfectly executed. A stand-out was the lobster campanelle pasta, the Tomahawk steak, & perfect truffle fries. Don't miss Ophelia when visiting Quebec City...you're welcome!
If you're in the mood for a modern take on steak & seafood cuisine, you're in for a treat.
The decor is nice & inviting. The staff is attentive, approachable & knows the menu well to make great recommendations if you're undecided looking at all the options they have. However, you can't really go wrong with any of the items on their menu. Everything is well seasoned with good flavor combinations & well executed.
They have a nice wine list to pair with whatever mood you're in. That's a big plus in my book!
Food was excellent. Service was impeccable. Despite my many requests. Steak was a touch too salty.
Late night menu is 👌 you can order it even if you sit down before 9 & wait
Cool vibe. Oysters were great, fish was good, steaks were good. Service was a little strange- starters came out minutes after we ordered with mains coming before the table was cleared. The quick service wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but not what you'd usually expect for this type of place.
Stopped by for dinner on a cool night but the outside seating heaters & was vey comfortable. The service was very good & the food was delicious. My wife had steak & I had filet mignon with shrimp. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was alright. We had the seafood platter for 2, some foie gras, scallops crudo, a lobster pasta, a ribeye & some drinks. The bill came to $300 & change, which was pretty cheap in comparison to what we would have paid in Toronto for the same meal. However the food was pretty average, the steak got cold super fast, like 6 bites in. Their bearnaise sauce was pretty good. The highlight of this place was in their architecture. We sat upstairs & had a good view of the entire place. The way this place was designed is truly amazing. The way they were able to utilize the space to maximize occupancy while maintaining comfortable walking space for both the staff & the customers. You have to see it to believe it. The place is filled with stairs & steps, so the owners were probably dealt a really bad hand going into this, with uneven spacing throughout. But they managed to make it work & it's truly a piece of art. Despite the food being pretty mid. This was the best meal we had in old Quebec City.
