Restaurant Parmesan was founded by true Italians over 48 years ago. Over the years, Luigi (known to all) has passed on his passion for food and Italian customs such as La Dolce Vita, hot chestnuts in autumn, our traditional balsamic vinegar, our famous homemade prosciutto and many other well-kept secrets. Over the years, Luigi has amassed over 4,000 bottles that are displayed throughout this museum that is Parmesan.

Parmesan in Old Quebec City is widely celebrated for its warm, festive, and authentic Italian atmosphere, further elevated by lively live accordion music that creates a truly memorable dining experience. Many visitors praise the restaurant for its charming, character-filled decor and exceptional service, with numerous staff members frequently recognized for their friendliness, professionalism, and attentive care. While a significant portion of guests rave about the delicious, generous portions and high-quality meals, others note varied opinions regarding food consistency and pricing. Despite some mixed feedback on specific dishes and overall value, the restaurant remains a popular destination where guests often feel welcomed like family, making it a highly recommended spot for celebrations and special occasions in the city.
The food was incredible. We started with parmesan fondue (not what you'd expect, but delicious), amd a caprese salad, followed by chicken parmesan & spaghetti, accompanied by live accordion music & truly memorable service, all in a unique setting. Highly recommended.
A Wonderful Birthday Celebration at Parmesan Restaurant in Old Quebec!
I highly recommend Parmesan Restaurant in Old Quebec City! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a warm, charming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The restaurant is absolutely adorable, & the live accordion player added such a special touch to the evening, singing beautifully in both Italian & French & creating a truly authentic & memorable experience.
The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, attentive, & went above & beyond to make my birthday extra special. To my surprise, they brought out a birthday cake, sang a birthday song, & even took a picture of me & my best friend for us to keep as a wonderful souvenir. It was such a thoughtful gesture & made the celebration unforgettable.
The food was delicious, & every dish was prepared with care & flavor. Combined with the cozy ambiance & exceptional hospitality, it made for a perfect evening.
If you're planning to visit, be sure to make a reservation, especially if you want to dine at a specific time, as the restaurant is very popular & waiting times can be long.
Thank you, Parmesan Restaurant, for making my birthday so memorable. I can't wait to return on my next visit to Quebec City! ❤?🎶🍝🎂🥂
What a wonderful find. It was our last day in Quebec & we stumbled upon this quaint Italian restaurant. The atmosphere was so cozy & charming. The staff were super friendly without being in your face every 5 minutes. The live accordion music made you feel like you were in Italy. The food was excellent, a bit on the pricy side, but worth it. Highly recommend!
Very quaint restaurant. Staff were all very friendly & welcoming. Short ribs & salad were delicious. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. The accordion player was very authentic.
Amazing atmosphere, staff was very attentive, food was excellent & the accordion player really kept the mood up. Seriously recommend & will go back next time we go to Quebec City
We were there last night & I would say this is a great place for families & kids. My little daughter who just turned 10 loved the atmosphere & decorations, it's a fun & beautiful setting, & the food was good. Our server Laura was the best server I've had in years - highly attuned to us always despite her having a full house to serve (including a table of 10 behind us with 3 birthdays), & always pleasant & smiling & friendly. Every time I even thought we might need something - she was there. The live music was great too, my daughter loved the accordion songs. Fantastic night there.
Hands down the best carbonara I've ever had. Perfectly rich & creamy without being heavy, clearly made with real care & authentic flavors. The ambiance made the experience even better - warm, cozy, & elevated by live accordion music that gave the whole place a charming, European feel. An unforgettable meal from start to finish. Can't wait to come back
Great place to go when in Old Quebec! Great atmosphere & if you're lucky, one of their staff is fantastic with the accordion & plays (& sings) The Beatles, Elton John & other more traditional music. I ordered the Poulet Terazinni & my wife got their Poulet Piccata, delicious 10/10 would come back here.
