Restaurant Parmesan was founded by true Italians over 48 years ago. Over the years, Luigi (known to all) has passed on his passion for food and Italian customs such as La Dolce Vita, hot chestnuts in autumn, our traditional balsamic vinegar, our famous homemade prosciutto and many other well-kept secrets. Over the years, Luigi has amassed over 4,000 bottles that are displayed throughout this museum that is Parmesan.

I rarely share reviews for restaurants, but when I do the experience was truly special. Parmesan is a warm, friendly & to some degree tourist focused experience, yet the welcome & service we received from the promptly seated reservation for 4, through appetizers, main & dessert was indeed special. The food was as well prepared, well presented & heart warming, followed by very tasty dessert & table side showcase of cafes flambée. The intense & exciting decor kept us looking, & as F1 fans, the Billeneube shrine was noted!🥳. A fantastic Monday night meal!!! French or English - pas de problème.
I wouldn't have guessed when we got to Quebec City that we would eat in an Italian restaurant, but I'm sure glad we did! The place was filled with charm & character. There are lots of decorations that were fun to examine. The service was great, & the food was off the charts. I had the ravioli, & I loved every bite. The restaurant is located right in the heart of Old Quebec, so it's easy to get to other shops & eateries. I'm so glad we had lunch here!
Good food & service. Food tastes really good & have descent portion. The ambiance is really good with amazing wall decor. The tables are pretty tightly packed & does not have enough room around them. Restaurant was fully packed & we didn't had any reservations but fortunately we got a table.

Visite en mai 2024 pour une tablée de 7 personnes. Le restaurant semble bâtit sur un modèle d'affaire visant uniquement la clientèle touristique. Étant un habitué & un fan des restaurants de Québec offrant une expérience culinaire d'exception, ce restaurant ne vaut tout simplement pas le détour. Nourriture: 🆘 J'espère pour ce restaurant que le chef habituel s'est fait remplacer dernière minute pour une maladie, car l'ensemble des personnes à ma tablée ont été énormément déçu par la qualité de la nourriture servie. Allant des calmars frits, au veau, au poisson & aux plats de pâtes, les plats étaient tous insipides. Personne n'a fini son assiette. Les pâtes semblent être de provenance commerciale & étaient trop cuites. Prix: 🆘 Pour un prix moyen à plus de 30$ CAD l'assiette, le prix est nettement excessif en regard de la qualité servie. C'est le genre de facture qui laisse un goût amer en bouche & qui nous fait regretter une réservation. Aussi bien rester chez soi & cuisiner un plat de pâtes qui en vaudra vraiment la peine. Accueil & service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Point positif de la visite, le service est rapide & le personnel globalement souriant & avenant. Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Restaurant au décor surchargé & excentrique. Peut plaire à plusieurs alors qu'il en fera sourciller certains. Personnellement, cela ajoute un cachet unique & la propreté n'est pas à critiquer. Le joueur d'accordéon est très sympathique & est un énorme plus pour l'ambiance. Par contre, en regard de la qualité globale de l'expérience, nous pouvons nous demander s'il ne s'agit pas simplement d'une tactique de marketing...
We were enticed by the very authentic atmosphere & had high hopes for simple comfort food. My husband is Italian & greatly appreciated the decor which reminded him of his parents' house. When the basket of bread arrived, we began to have doubts. The bread was cold. Some pieces looked like they were leftovers fron another table - different texture altogether. Butter was cold making it difficult to spread. The margarita pizza was the worst he'd ever eaten - too much sauce & cheese with no recognizable margarita flavour. The pasta arrabbiata was okay. We passed on dessert & left feeling that we had paid far too much for a less than mediocre meal. We should have spoken up while at the restaurant but, honestly, just wanted to get out.
Vraiment bon restaurant du vieux Québec. Super de bon service & conseil du serveur. Un Vraiment bon repas. J'ai pris un steak au poivre, bonne cuisson & vraiment délicieux. Mon ami a pris brochette de filet mignon & il a adorer. Belle ambiance & belle décoration avec musicien. C'est sur que nous y retourneront à notre prochaine visite à Québec prendre la table numéro 5.
Quelle belle & délicieuse surprise ce restaurant! Nous sommes allé souper & tout a été parfait. Accueillant dès le départ, notre serveur a été vraiment gentil & a pris le temps de répondre à nos questions & ce, même si le restaurant était plein à craquer. Nous avons choisi salade césar, canneloni à la viande & fettucine matriciana. & ce fût un géréreux délice. Ah oui... le tiramisu est 😋Mmmm... Ambiance de fête chaleureuse dans un décor envellopant avec plein d'objets intéressants à regarder sur les murs. Pour terminer en beauté, laisser vous tenter par un petit Amaro Nonino, vous ne le regretterez pas! ❤️❤️❤️
The most intimate lovely experience with elevated Italian dishes & decadent desserts. The staff made you feel so very special. The decoratives, wood burning fireplace, & your own personal table side accordion player whisk you off your feet. We brought our children here celebrating our anniversary & it was also very family friendly with a dessert bar to observe while you're eating. Parmesan is a must see restaurant arguably the best closest to château Frontenac!
What an incredible experience. During our week in Old Quebec City, we tried numerous places for food. This one tops them all. Amazing food. The staff were all extremely friendly (& all spoke English, which is awesome because we don't speak a word of French). The service was quick. The atmosphere was authentic Italian, from the decor, to the very talented musicians. We highly recommend this place.
The decor & atmosphere is enchanting. We had very good service & we enjoyed the food. The strolling musician was the highlight of our dining experience.
