Beyond the food, the service is widely described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, contributing to a memorable experience for both families and couples. While the restaurant is popular and can occasionally become quite busy, the general consensus is that the charming setting, welcoming staff, and delicious menu make it a highly recommended spot for those seeking a comforting and genuine meal.
This is a nice cozy place to dine with out breaking the bank. Nice selection of pasta & pizza. I have dined here many times when I visit old Quebec. The food is delicious & fresh. Nice atmosphere & good people. Merci.
We had a delicious meal starting with the fondue & then pasta & a glass of wine. We were here on a satureday during a festival & had to wait to be seated the restaurantwas very busy. We teamed up with a friendly American couple so when they asked for a table of 4 we could say yes, as that seemed to get you seated quicker. We had a lovely evening of great food, wine & lovely company
May family & I were visiting the Quebec City area last week. We spent an afternoon in Old Town & at the end of a long day, chose to eat at Polina Pizzeria as they could accommodate my plant-based diet. Our two sons speak French fluently, however, my wife & I cannot. Sam & Alex served us & were awesome. They spoke with the boys in French & made my wife & I very comfortable speaking in English to us. Alex pointed out vegan options to me & explained what I could enjoy. My wife had the Alfredo pasta with Chicken. One son had the duck, one son had the La Pollo pizza. I had the La Trapanese Pizza. We did not wait long. All the dishes were fantastic. The atmosphere was quaint, cozy & clean. No question we will recommend & would return. Big thanks to Alex & Sam who elevated our experience entirely.
Fantastic dining experience in Quebec City! We had the pizza, pasta Alfredo, & cheese fondue - all three were delicious & full of flavor. The cozy ambiance & friendly service made it even better. Highly recommend if you're looking for authentic Italian comfort food in the heart of the city!
We chose this Italian restaurant for dinner on two consecutive evenings.
On the first night, we ordered the La Margarita pizza, Coscia d'anatra confit (duck leg), & iced tea. The pizza was authentic & nicely cooked, & the duck leg was perfectly done, just as we requested - served with fries, & I really loved it. However, we didn't enjoy the iced tea.
During our second visit, I wasn't very hungry, so we went with the Spaghetti alla Napoletana & a crème brûlée. The pasta was good, especially the sauce - simple & flavorful. The crème brûlée was the best we had on our trip.
We had reserved a table for our first visit, but on the second evening, we considered getting takeout. Unfortunately, we were told they weren't doing takeout that evening, & we ended up waiting around 20-30 minutes for a table. The staff member managing the front that night seemed a bit rude, & we noticed several customers leaving after being turned away or kept waiting.
Thankfully, a staff member from the previous evening eventually recognized us & helped us get seated. That really saved the experience for us.
So overall - the food is good, & I'd recommend this place, but make sure to book a table in advance!
The atmosphere was charming & quaint, with an authentic Italian feel. The service was great & the food was exceptional.
We both loved the pasta(Alfredo & Spaghetti bolognese) & the kids enjoyed their pizzas. I would definitely recommend adding the pancetta to the Alfredo.
We have to stop every time we're in Quebec City & have always enjoyed fantastic service & whatever we've ordered.
I was on a quick visit to Quebec with my husband & son, yesterday we had the opportunity to go to lunch at Polina, I must say it was the best Italian food I've ever had in all of Canada, we had cheese fondu, bruschetta & garlic bread as starters, my son got pizza Ursulina, my husband got pasta Alfredo & I got spaghetti fruti di mare, I can say every dish was tasty & fresh, the staff was very friendly & smiling, they were fast & attentive, if I ever return to Quebec, I will eat here again without hesitation,
Located right on the street so will definitely give you proper European vibes plus the service & food is amazing, being vegetarian i had their Alfredo spaghetti pasta & Margerita pizza, i felt quantity was a bit less for pasta according to the price & my expectations, tasted really good but their pizza was just wow, one the best in town for sure!
