Our experience at Beffroi was incredible. The food & cocktails were delicious. The dry aged rib steak was quite possibly the best steak I've ever eaten. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Beffroi Steakhouse is a place where true hospitality still matters.

Chef Jean-Michel Blouin's passion for meat & classical technique is evident from the first bite - from careful aging to confident execution, this is a kitchen that respects the craft.

There was an initial miss with the cooking method of my steak. That said, what followed is exactly what separates good restaurants from great ones. The issue was handled immediately & professionally, with zero defensiveness & full accountability. The correction was flawless, & the experience that followed was genuinely above & beyond.

A special recognition to Matthew, our server - textbook FOH excellence. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable, calm under pressure, & genuinely invested in the guest experience. He communicated seamlessly with the kitchen, managed the situation with grace, & made us feel completely taken care of. This is the kind of service that builds trust & keeps guests coming back.

In the industry, we know mistakes happen. What matters is recovery, standards, & leadership - & Beffroi delivers on all three.

A restaurant that stands behind its product, its people, & its guests. Highly recommended.

I ordered salmon along with one other person in our party, it was served to both of us lukewarm which was very disappointing. A 3rd person ordered steak it was cooked as ordered. A 4th person ordered veal marsala & they enjoyed their dinner. It's a shame the salmon was served lukewarm as it was cooked perfectly.

Très décu de ce steakhouse. La nourriture était tiède, les légumes trop mous; à ce prix on s'attends à beaucoup mieux. Jai dû manger rapidement pour en profiter avant que ce soit froid. Je visite des steakhouse à Montréal & ailleurs & à Quebec Le Charbon est bein meilleur. Le Beffroi n'est pas à la hauteur.

We dined there last night. We received a gift card from the hotel for our Anniversary. I presented this to the waiter upon being seated. When we ordered, we both asked for the stuffed baked potato with our meals. The waiter then had to say there is an extra charge for this. Yes, we know this as it is stated in the menu. When we got our meals, we got a plain baked potato with no butter or sour cream. We then called the waiter over to say that we had ordered the stuffed baked potato, to which he replied AGAIN, there is an extra charge for this!!! So because I had a gift coupon, he assumed we could not afford our meal??? We felt very put off by this treatment! While the steaks were delicious, the service was demeaning!

If you want undercooked steak with service that makes you feel exploited, this is the place for you.

We dined here on the last night of a weekend getaway. I ordered my steak medium & it was served rare. I cut off a piece & sent the rest back. They clearly just stuck the plate in the oven for a few moments because it came back just as rare as the piece I'd cut off (see photo).

I showed the waiter & told him that I no longer wanted it. He removed it from our bill but no'sorry for that,' no'thank you for coming.' He just took payment (& tip) & walked away without a word.

My wife requested her steak well done & it was overcooked to the point of being chewy & stringy. We didn't even complain about it, but were glad to leave it behind.

Excellent Atmosphere & Service, but the Steak Missed the Mark

We dined at Beffroi Steakhouse in Quebec City with an 8:00 p.m. reservation. Despite the welcoming atmosphere & professional staff, our meals were not served until just after 9:00 p.m. The restaurant was very busy, which likely contributed to the delay.

I ordered the Kanas 16oz steak with puréed Yukon Gold potatoes & vegetables, cooked medium rare with no sauce. Unfortunately, the steak was closer to well done & lacked seasoning or flavour-it was quite bland & chewy. My partner ordered the New York cut with a baked potato & thoroughly enjoyed his meal, so quality may vary depending on the dish.

The staff & overall environment were excellent, & the prices were fair for the area. However, based on my experience, I wouldn't consider Beffroi a true steakhouse. While the service & ambiance stood out, my main course did not meet expectations.
