We had a father's day dinner, & the team was super accommodating us & the young one. The food was really good, cooked well.. but not quite what we ordered. Mind you, it was still quite good. & although it was my first experience with the tomahawk, it was nothing to shake a steak at. Maybe a bit overpriced for what it was.
At the end, we asked for the bill to bring the fussy baby home quicker, & they were faster to get the bill paid, say 2 minutes, than get the rest of what we ordered, a piece of cake, to go - 15 minutes later. So another factor that didnt fare well.
Overall, cant say I'm not satisfied, yet there are some things I'm sure could have gone smoother.
After looking over the menu from our concierge's suggested restaurant, I knew that recommendation wasn't a good fit for our family. I went on OpenTable & checked out several places & arrived at Steak Avenue with very basic expectations, but we were so pleasantly with this little gem. For some reason I thought it would have been a much bigger place by the name, but it was cozy & quietly tucked into a hotel lobby…& we had an incredible experience. We arrived early & were seated since our table was ready. We started with some cocktails & soft drinks. The server said it was her first night & she did great. She went over the menu with us & made recommendations including the candy bacon, & it was a hit. Four pieces of bacon are hung from clips & then torched at your table. It was fun & delicious. The family next to us watched with envy as they were ending their meal & clearly didn't order it for themselves! We got filet mignon's with fries which came with delicious sautéed vegetables! We also had snow crabs, shrimp, sweet potato fries, the poutine, & an order of kids mac & cheese with ribs, molten lava cake & the crème brûlée. (& can't forget the chocolate hazelnut candies delivered with the bill). Everything was just perfect. Perfectly cooked steak, perfect temperature on all our items, everything came out from the kitchen in a timely manner, friendly attentive staff & a cute dimly lit space, suitable for family meals or romantic dates. It was actually the first meal in a very long time where everyone in our family equally loved it, a rarity!! If we were in town any longer we would certainly visit a second time. Casual enough to feel comfortable, but fancy enough to feel special.
One of the best steak restaurants. Amazing food & service. Shoutout to Keith, We had an amazing experience thanks to our server, Keith! From the moment we were seated, he was warm & attentive. Keith went above & beyond to make sure our meal was perfect. His professionalism, friendly attitude, & genuine care truly elevated our dining experience. Thank you, Keith-you're a star!
My wife & I went here for her birthday celebration & this place did not disappoint! The place is gorgeous in my opinion & our waiter for the evening (Dominic) was probably top 3 people in my life that made our evening a memorable experience.
For service was equally as excellent as the food, we started off with oysters (they were from P.E.I) then went with a trio for the ceviche & sashimi (bluefin tuna, salmon & Asian style ceviche with shrimps & scallops) for the wife & I had the French onion soup which was one of the best I've tried in my life.
Main course we split the tomahawk steak with a couple of sides & you NEED TO order the foie gras butter it is exquisite 👌 & then had some dessert. I can't recommend this place enough for a memorable experience....albeit you're gonna be paying a good buck but worth every cent!!!
