About

Offering a glimpse into Quebec’s past, Bar Artefact is the perfect place for enjoying a light meal and signature drinks from one of the city’s most creative cocktail menus, while surrounded by artefacts preserved in time. The bar showcases relics unearthed on site during a recent excavation dig, such as the Dauphine Battery and window displays filled with objects dating back from six distinct eras in our property’s history.

This is a very busy bar restaurant & the servers perform many jobs, but all that aside they managed to arrange a perfect dinner for me. In am vegan & no oil, Because of a heart issue. They were so accommodating. Elissa really helped us out. We had a delicious meal & stay at the hotel .

We had the most delightful lunch at the Artifact Bar & Grill. The Icelandic Cod dish with seasonal vegetables was delicious. Everything was excellent but even more so because of Emily our waitress. She took particular care in making sure we were happy with our tea selection. That may sound like a funny thing but my husband has specific taste where his tea is concerned & Emily Wall was a dear to make sure to get it prepared the way he liked it. That kind of service was very much appreciated & Emily was & is excellent with her customers. We highly recommend the Artifact Bar & Grill & when you're there ask for Emily. :-)

We make a point of eating at Bar Artefact every time we stay at the Auberge Saint-Antoine. The food has always been excellent, the staff pleasant & efficient, & we love the atmosphere.

We went here specifically for the hot chocolate. Everywhere I read had this bar as the best hot chocolate in Quebec City. Yes, I am an adult, but I really wanted to indulge. I LOVED IT!!! I also loved that my husband could have an "adult" beverage since it is a bar. We were seated in a quite corner right next to the fireplace & it was so quaint.

Service was very poor; practically non-existent. Water was not refilled, orders not taken. Bar was not full but we were virtually ignored. Disappointing as we had very much looked forward to this experience. Flavor of food ordered was good but portions very small for the price. Won't be returning.

A bit of difficulty trying to order a USA Chardonnay off your wine menu. Took three people. Finally the bottle from the wine menu(second one) was delivered by bar tender to our dinner table.

Both of the cod dishes were tough & a little dried out as though they spent too much time on a warming tray. The beef shoulder was tough & chewy. Our cocktails arrived after our meals were picked over. Our very nice waitress tried to make amends for the kitchen & the bar by offering free ice cream.

Unfortunately the bartender was way too busy (apparently someone called out sick) but there was no responsiveness to customer needs. For one drink & one appetizer each at the bar it was 2+ hours. I would not recommend this place.
