In the heart of Old Québec, Bar Artefact brings together signature cocktails and light sharing plates, in a décor where every object tells a story. Saturdays and Sundays, from 2 to 4 pm, enjoy our tea time: an assortment of sweet and savory bites.

About

Offering a glimpse into Quebec’s past, Bar Artefact is the perfect place for enjoying a light meal and signature drinks from one of the city’s most creative cocktail menus, while surrounded by artefacts preserved in time. The bar showcases relics unearthed on site during a recent excavation dig, such as the Dauphine Battery and window displays filled with objects dating back from six distinct eras in our property’s history.

We had a wonderful time last night at Bar Artefact! Our server was wonderful, really fun & funny, & gave us wonderful service. We loved our drinks (they were delicious, high end & perfect), & the food was very good overall (fantastic oysters & charcuterie!): a couple more choices of entree would make it perfect. One of my dinner companions LOVED her salmon. Next time we are in Quebec city we will definitely come back.

Nothing "life changing," but all the food was uniformly excellent. A small, comfortable restaurant with excellent service. The special was duck breast with cherry gastrique & it was perfectly prepared with crispy skin & tender meat. The cheese & charcuterie plate was also excellent, with the best brie I have had in North America. We chose Bar Artefact simply because it was in our hotel & had reservations the day we arrived by train from Montreal. We knew it would be good, but it exceeded our every expectation.

My husband & I enjoyed a lovely evening here.
The beer & wine selections were well priced & abundant. The food was delicious & the service was excellent. The ambience is very pleassnt with great background music. A perfect spot for dinner or just drinks. Bar Artefact is comparable to many of the other, more expensive restaurants we visited while in Quebec City. We would definitely return.

Had an amazing meal at Bar Artefact! Huge thank you to Lily for an equally amazing service! Felix for wonderful mocktail creations & Chefs Pascal, Max & Zico for what was a definite culinary experience! Beef flank steak, my husband said it was incredible & the gravy to die for! Our daughter had the Rock Cornish hen with BBQ sauce, I thought she was going to eat the bones it was so good! Lol All meals had delicious vegetables & herbs that came from the Auberge's farm🥰 To accommodate my low sodium, the Chef recommended the Tuna Tataki with a Green pea purée, virgin dressing with tomatoes & daisy capers.... 🥰🥰🥰 They were also able to accommodate our daughter's peanut allergy!
We ended the meal with an incredible brownie & for myself, who never likes desserts... I had a Pavlova with seasonal fruits & it was to die for!! Not too sweet & no salt! Thank you to Chef Justine for these creations! This restaurant is a definite must!
