On the recommendation of our concierge, we came here for breakfast & it did not disappoint. There was a bit of a line, but things moved along very smoothly. I'd say there were about 10 people/parties ahead of us & we were seated in about 20-25 minutes. We (er, I) chose to sit at the counter, just to be'closer to the action'. The servants were super nice, quickly switching to English when my French just wasn't cutting it ;-). They were very friendly & helpful with making choices. The homemade bread & jam were super delish. &, c'mon, bread plus cafe au lait in a French-speaking city - how can you go wrong with that! Well, there was that & some lovely eggs benedict. - Reasonable prices (even for a tourist area), great food, friendly service.
Mediocre food. Tinned gravy? French onion soup served with black croutons & tasted like tinned consommé. A few people outside but abruptly advised to sit in a two person spot. No designated server. Just to round it out, when paying we were advised tip was not included because we weren't leaving a tip.

I'm a tourist & I had one of the most humiliating & disgusting experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. The waitress refused to speak English & laughed at my French when I tried my best to communicate. She literally mocked my accent & then yelled at me in front of everyone!
It got worse: she tried to scam me by selling me a'promotion' that supposedly included coffee, but when I asked for it, she just said'No' & walked away. I didn't leave a tip (because why would I, after being treated like garbage?), & when I went to pay, the staff shouted at me for not tipping!
& THEN - in front of the whole restaurant - they yelled:'If you don't have money, don't go out to eat in restaurants!' That's not only humiliating, it's classist & absolutely unacceptable. For the record: I DO have money, I just don't tip when the service is awful. Tipping is NOT mandatory!
This place is completely RACIST & unwelcoming to tourists. I've never felt so mistreated or disrespected in my life. If you're not local, don't go here. You'll regret it.
Enjoyed a fulfilling breakfast of french toast with two eggs over easy, lite salad fixings & breakfast potatoes. The French toast is lite & fluffy, great with the maple syrup. The maple syrup is a small extra charge. It's not included. The staff is very nice & friendly, also attentive.
Omgoodness this spot is so so so good. It is a diner without the grease. The food is clean, fresh & so tasty. Eggs cooked perfectly. French fries crispy & fluffy at the same time. French toast cooked to perfection. Clubhouse sandwich made with care & very flavorful. Super cute & very very clean. Our server was a delight & accommodating & super nice. This is the kind of spot you want to eat at every day you are in Quebec. That is what I will be doing!!! A must visit when in Quebec.
We came at 3pm on Saturday & got seated right away. They let us get plates to share & were friendly to let me practice my French even though they spoke English!
The fish & chips & Quebec plates we got were absolutely awesome tasting tender, flavorful, & juicy the whole time. Best poutine too!
I went here the other night with my girlfriend & a few friends & we all absolutely loved our experience here due to not just the great food but also because of the outstanding table service from our waitress Elsa who definitely deserves a big shout out. We were there to try some traditional, authentic Quebec cuisine so we wanted Tourtière & French Onion Soup. Thankfully Elsa recommended to us that we should split the Le Pâté Chinois & a bowl of French Onion Soup & we can honestly say that we loved the food & were very satisfied because we got exactly what we were looking for. Elsa was unbelievably friendly & really kind to take the time to talk with us & give us some very good advice about the local cuisine, language, the city & everything else which was very helpful since we were tourists. Elsa definitely made our experience there a very pleasant one since she actually took the time to not just recommend us some good food but because she actually made us feel very comfortable & welcome at the restaurant & especially in the city. We can't thank her enough for the experience & I can't wait to come back here during my next visit to the city!
Another good breakfast place that we found in QC. As with many of the restaurants, it's small - but friendly & quaint. My husband had the Ham & Cheese Omelette & I had the French Toast w/ Maple Syrup. Both dishes good - & would go back to try other ones.
