Café Buade's cuisine is free and inspired. Poetic in its essence, it draws on both local roots and traditions from elsewhere. It's a place where flavors meet, where ideas intersect, where creativity knows no boundaries. A cuisine that pays homage to the past while opening the door to the imagination.

Pleasantly surprised with Cafe Buade! This place is more than a 100 years old. Service was excellent, & the food was so good. I had the French Toast & it was delicious. Price is reasonable. We'll be back, this is a great restaurant.
Todo es excelente en el Café Buadet ! Hemos ido 4 días y manana en nuestro último día también lo haremos, antes de regresar a nuestro país. Felicidades a todos quienes trabajan aquí !!!
It was a wonderful experience at Le Café Buade, located in the heart of Old Quebec City. We were there to explore & celebrate a friend's birthday, & everything exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the ambiance was cozy & charming, & the experience was made even more special by the amazing staff, especially Joe, who welcomed, served, & entertained us with such warmth & genuine hospitality.
We ate twice here in a 4 day stay, & with all the other restaurants around that was something. We had brunch & it was casual but cozy & friendly, & they topped up our coffee frequently. Their home made soup is really fabulous, I'd say a speciality. So we went back on our last evening & our waiter Charles was so attentive & friendly without being over the top. There was nothing wrong with the local dish I chose (chips with gravy & cheese curds cannot remember it's name) but it just wasn't to my liking & I ought to not have chosen it, but my husband was delighted with his plate of food. Charles seemed very disappointed that I hadn't enjoyed it, but understood & appreciated me at least trying it. He was VERY understanding when it came to the bill regarding that which was above & beyond. Thank you so much cafe Buade, You are a gem of a place with lovely staff & food.
After you have checked out various menus along the streets of Old Quebec, & can't decide. Make your way to Cafe Baude. You will not be disappointed. We ate there twice while visiting. The grilled ham & cheese & onion soup, where exceptional. The chicken club sandwich was cooked to perfectio. The French toast satisfied my morning crave for a balanced sweetness. My gal enjoyed the country omelet. All washed down with a delicious cup of coffee. All served by a very pleasant staff. Don't miss this piece of food paradise.
Dined at Cafe Buade for dinner after 5 days in Quebec City & Old Quebec - the best food we had during our stay. The service was great & they went above & beyond. Also the most affordable.
We were walking thru Old Town Quebec late evening yesterday looking for a place for the four of us to have dinner. We were not looking for fancy high end dining that comes in at $100 per person. We just wanted good food & service after a very long day of site seeing.
We came across Cafe Buade, looked at the menu on the wall outside & all agreed it looked great! We walked in & asked if it was too late to be seated for dinner (we were uncertain of the hours & would never walk in for dinner if a restaurant was closing in a half hour or so). They told us we were fine & they'd be happy to seat us.
We were blown away throughout our dining experience! My apologies for no pictures, but among the four of us we ordered Escargot, a Garden Salad, two different Pasta Dishes, Pea Soup, a Cheeseburger, Crème Brûlée, Cheesecake & Queen Elizabeth Cake along with drinks & coffees at the end with dessert. Each & every dish was absolutely delicious! The pasta sauce on my dish was amazing. In fact we liked the food here so much we're going back for lunch tomorrow during our final pass through old town.
I would be remiss if I didn't include the high level of service we received from the waitress, Stephanie. She was extremely attentive while not being'too much'. She was pleasant, welcoming & funny & gave zero indication of the time getting late when we ordered dessert. The delivery of our courses was spot on & she truly helped make the perfect end to a great day.
If you think this review is too good to be authentic you are way off base. We dine out at a lot of different places in our travels & I have written many reviews both good & not so good. Though human nature has it that we are quicker to write a bad review than a good one, I have always believed if a restaurant truly stands out they deserve the recognition for it. Cafe Buade stands out. Go there & you'll find out for yourself.
