Cafe Buade was a truly great find during our recent visit to Quebec City. It is not only a pleasantly hidden respite place but offered great tasting food, excellent & warm service, & peaceful ambiance. We had an onion soup which strongly rivaled some of the best soups we have had in France. We also had a Caesar salad which was top notch & big enough to share. My wife had nice wine with a healthy pour, unlike other places where we dined during our stay. Alina was a terrific server, very pleasant, helpful, & professional. Kudos & touché Cafe Buade.

We visited on Saturday & thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the Shrimp & Seafood Gratin (Coquilles de fruits de mer) & it was just as hearty & comforting as I had hoped.

I really appreciated that there were options for our picky teenager as well such as pizza & sandwiches. For him, it's pizza, burger, repeat.

Great value with prix fixe menu option as well which include a soup & dessert with your choice of 4 mains.

There is construction on Rue de Buade in front of the restaurant. Do not let this deter you.

J'y suis allé 2 fois, le grilled cheese / soupe de tomates, ça allait. À ma 2e visite j'ai pris une pizza qui m'est arrivé pas assez cuite.

This is 100 yr old restaurant is our top choice in Quebec city. The beef bourgeois is definitely the best anywhere! Served with homemade tomatoe soup, or seafood linguine with their incredible ceasar salad is our favorite.

I almost didn't try this place because of the reviews, but I'm really glad I did. The food was honestly delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, full of flavor, & really well done. The pea soup was soooo yummy.

It ended up being a great meal overall, & I'd definitely come back for the food alone. If you're on the fence, I'd say it's worth giving it a shot.

Had a great experience, both service & food. Had the pea soup, duck wings & poutine buade. Great portion & food was very good. Our server Joe, was very attentive & courteous. Overall, very enjoyable.

We stopped in for an early lunch, & were very content. The food was delicious & comforting - the pea soup was the best I've had in Vieux-Quebec. Our server was attentive, & the vibes are very warm & comfortable.
