Excellent coffee shop in the heart of St-Roch district.

We found this little gem by wandering along St-Joseph street. The atmosphere is relaxed & inviting. Their coffees are deliciously brewed. There's also a very decent selections of premium teas. My daughters LOVED their milk shakes & cookies. It is also dog friendly. Competitive prices for the quality of coffees, 10x better than Starbucks!

Staff bilingual & very courteous.

[Update August 2025]: We returned to this place & they delivered again! Coffee good as always & the smoke salmon sandwich made with perfection, every single element was done right: the bagel, the smoked salmon, the cream cheese & capers & onions, just meticulously prepared. Bravo to the team! While it's sad to see the declining retail industry in this neighborhood, I was relieved to see Cafe Pekoe alive & well.

I wish I had a place like Cafe Pekoe near my home, as it was such a treat! The staff are great, the food is great, & the shop is unique. I really enjoyed their Dragon Salad & wish I had more time in Quebec just to eat it again, haha. Their Bahn Mi vegetarian pate was also very delicious. My partner enjoyed the bagel he had as well. The staff were great about checking for food allergies with a book they have right by the register.
Also, loved the Canadiano change on the menu ;)

Every dessert we bought tasted amazing (& we bought a lot). My favourites: chocolate pecan cookie & the oreo rice krispy. The salmon bagel was so good. We don't have pictures cause we ate everything. 💯

The salmon bagel was to absolutely die for & we still talk about how good it was! Really creamy hot chocolate & pretty good service. Loved the different combinations of cuisine here, would definitely love to visit again!

A very nice cafe with very cool interior. The space is pretty huge with big benches as well as small table for seating yet it's always busy. I tried their salmon bagel which was pretty average & their tofu poke bowl which was good. The staff is very friendly & the service is quick. Would definitely love to give another visit to this cafe to try more pastries & coffee.

Really cute cafe with friendly staff.
We actually planned to go somewhere else, but as we passed by, the atmosphere & the options for breakfast/brunch made us stay in the Café Pékoe.
There are not that many vegan choices, but the one I had - the vegepate Sandwich - was delicious. If you’re not vegan there’s a lot of other options in bagels & sandwiches. Plus the coffee is amazing! It’s not that strong, which made it the best coffee I had while traveling Quebec.
Also I really appreciated the atmosphere. A few people where just chatting, or getting a quick coffee, some seemed to study or read. I’d definitely come back for a study session or just another coffee!
