We love this restaurant! The wait staff is attentive & courteous & the food is delish. i had the butternut squash soup & beef cheeks & my husband had the carpaccio app & the chicken entree. All was amazing. No dessert - too full!

Très beau & bon souper ! J'ai mangé les recommandations de notre serveur soit le carpaccio d'omble de charlevoix & la joue de boeuf & tout était délicieux ! Belles portions & bon service ! Nous y retournerons sans hésiter !

The food is very underwhelming. The onion soup is disgusting with a smoky taste & two different consistencies: a broth & creamy froth. The chicken breast lacked flavour.

Nous y avons soupé un samedi soir, vers 20:00. Par chance, mon mari avait demandé une table dans la petite salle près du foyer. Atmosphère plus feutré & intime. La grande salle à manger est vivante & contient beaucoup de monde. Si vous cherchez un bistro pour une soirée entre amis, vous serez servi.

Le menu est assez court. La cuisson du filet mignon de bison était parfaite & les sauces sont parfaitement balancées. Le tartare de veau & huître était surprenant, sans tomber dans l'excès de moutarde que l'on retrouve dans les tartares de boeuf. Seul hic, les frites qui l'accompagnaient étaient coupées trop grosses pour devenir croquantes. Le dessert de sablé aux pommes était tellement bon.

Nous avons eu la chance d'être servi par Florent. Généreux d'excellentes suggestions, présent sans devenir envahissant, il a été a l'écoute de nos demandes & a été un beau complément à notre soirée.

Deux soupers de trois services, une bouteille de vin & deux cocktails nous ont coûtés environ 300$ plus service. Acceptable quand on pense qu'il y a un effort véritable pour ne servir que des ingrédients de proximité.

Je le recommande alors grandement. Pensez à réserver d'avance, les places partent vite.

Service impeccable, cocktails aux saveurs subtiles, harmonieuses, bien équilibrées, mets goûteux & d'une grande finesse, assiettes généreuses.

J'ai pris le tataki de veau en entrée avec un accompagnement de purée de courge en pâte de gnocchi : tandis que le veau était délicieux, la pâte de gnocchi était quelque peu coriace.

En repas principal, j'ai dégusté avec grand plaisir l'omble. Fabuleux. Mon conjoint a pris la soupe à l'oignon (crémeuse & délectable) & la joue de boeuf braisée, vraiment sublime.

Nous avons apprécié l'ambiance, le décor, les apéros & les superbes plats. On a hâte d'y retourner!

Steak was cooked very well. Addition of squash felt a bit out of place.
Ambience was wonderful

We had one of our best meals ever at Chez Boulay-bistro boreal. We all tried something different & loved, loved our food. The beef cheeks would not be a item I'd normally order, nor would be veal & oyster carpaccio. I was not disappointed. One member of our party had onion soup cappuccino style, it was fabulous. Our server, Maureen was amazing, friendly, helpful & fun to chat with. We highly recommend this restaurant.
