Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

I am extremely disappointed & dissatisfied with my experience at this restaurant. We chose to dine here because it was highly rated & featured in several local magazines, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. We opted for the prix-fixe course (two different options, classic & vegetarian). Be aware if you want bread, it has an extra cost. The host was incredibly accommodating, even allowing us to take our table earlier than our scheduled reservation, which was a nice touch. However, our main waiter left much to be desired. He had a conceited attitude, took far too long to take our order, & when asked for a recommendation for a local beer, he responded with clear disdain & gave us a very brief explanation of their selection. To make matters worse, he rushed us at the end of the meal when I decided to decline tea. The servers who brought & explained the dishes were much friendlier, but they couldn't make up for the poor experience with our main waiter. As for the food, it was a huge letdown. In the vegetarian course, one of the purees seemed to be going bad-I couldn't even finish it, & nobody ever checked in to ask why. The butternut squash gnocchi was far too chewy, & the dessert over-spiced with a meringue that was overcooked & unappetizing (another dish unfinished) The classic course, had as main dish a perfectly cooked duck, sadly pair with popcorn-an unnecessary & unrefined topping that completely detracted from the elegance of the dish. Our table was by the window. It was a bit chilly, but thankfully, they had a small portable heater available. Overall, this was an awful experience. Surévalué!

Phenomenal experience! This was our favourite restaurant during our trip with friends. The food was delicious, & so flavourful. Each dish is so unique & special. Especially the red pepper dessert, & sweet potato gnocchi. Very cozy inside, & the service is great. They describe each dish that arrives at your table. We can't wait to come back for our next visit!!

Menu du chef: Belle exécution des plats, très frais & bien balancé. Le pairing était par contre très faible & ne s'agençait pas particulièrement bien avec les services. Le dessert était beaucoup trop sucré, ce qui a donné une fin très lourde.

We had an amazing dinner here! The charcuterie board was fantastic, the beef carpaccio was a favorite, & the dessert was incredible! Would highly recommend!!

Juin 2024. Très bel endroit, personnel intentionné, une certaine inventivité dans l'assiette, mais facture salée pour rester sur votre appétit ! Peu de choix au menu très restreint, autant pour les entrées que mets principaux. Le mets principal de mon conjoint était une portion réellement insuffisante. Pour ma part, souffrant d'allergies alimentaires, on n'a pas pu substituer la garniture allergène d'un de mes plats par un autre élément ( exemple, remplacer des noisettes par des amandes ou par autre chose) : première fois que ça m'arrive & je suis pourtant à l'âge de la retraite. Après notre repas (entrée, mets principal & dessert) nous avions encore faim (!), une première dans nos vies, & avons donc commandé le plateau de pain & fromages suggéré en entrée ( jamais nous ne prenons le plateau de fromages, car après une entrée & un mets principal, nous n'avons jamais d'appétit pour cela). D'ailleurs, de placer au menu le plateau de fromages avec les entrées nous a semblé une incongruité. Pour notre part, nous n'y retournerons pas.

Ordered the fois gras, duck, salmon & Mille feuille dishes. Each ingredient complimented each other very well & the fall vegetables were very flavourful. The Mille feuille dessert was especially a standout (not too sweet)! I was worried portion sizes would not be sufficient but splitting an app, two mains & a dessert between two people left us full & satisfied.

Great experience. The slow cooked salmon was one of the best i've ever had. My wife really enjoyed the cavatelli. The chocolate dessert was absolutely amazing.

We were really excited to try the tasting menu, but at $80+ each, we had high expectations. The portions are to be expected but the soup appetizer was absolutely tiny & an odd arrangement of ingredients. We should have just ordered from the menu. The main dish was our favorite but the dessert was way too strong of a rose taste we couldn't eat it. I had come here years ago & loved the experience but this time not so much. Truly a disappointment as this was what I looked most forward to on my trip. The staff & ambiance were great though

On a eu une belle soirée à ce restaurant. On a particulièrement apprécié le plat de cavatelli qui avait beaucoup d'éléments intéressants autant niveau goût & textures qui allaient tous très bien ensemble. Le plat de lapin était un peu décevant cependant. Particulièrement le lapin lui-même était sec & peu goûteux & mis à part du reste de l'assiette sans sauce. J'aurais pu me passer des pois verts aussi. Le dessert de mille feuilles avait plusieurs éléments très bons individuellements, mais ça ne fonctionnais pas super bien ensemble... Genre la sauce de fraise surette était bonne, mais ce n'est pas un bon accompagnement pour de la pâte feuilletée & crème fouettée légère... Le service était bien, mais un peu lent par moment. Bref, beaucoup d'éléments excellents, mais aussi beaucoup de trucs à améliorer pour un 5 étoiles.
