Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

My husband & I splurged for our birthdays, & had the prix fixe, chef's choice 4 course dinner with their wine pairings. The first course of sturgeon was spectacular, the "deconstructed" onion soup amazing & creative, the beef dish delicious & the dessert gorgeous & mouth watering! The wines were a perfect match, finished with a sweet cider aperitif. Worth every penny, & served so professionally.

We had the 4-course blind tasting & discovery wine pairing for dinner The wait staff were warm, friendly & engaging. In all of my years traveling & dining in U.S., Canada & Europe, this experience was most memorable. From the technical aspects of each course to the flavors, textures & presentation, the 'team' did an outstanding job. Thank you to Chez Rioux & Pettigrew for an excellent quality dining experience & I am looking forward to seeing you again.

A beautiful experience in a charming & convivial space with an eclectically delicious menu. They encourage the tasting (& pairing menu) which we did not opt for, but I would likely go this route next time. A first rate experience all around.

Fabulous evening. We sat at the bar & our bartender Alexei was incredible,m. He concocted delicious cocktails & was well informed on the wine pairings. The delicious prixe fixed menu showcased various elements of Québec cuisine & was all beautifully plated.
