Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

The portions were the smallest I have ever seen... even for a small plates restaurant. Seriously... one piece of lamb the size of a Susan B. Anthony Coin for $30!!! I the portions were so small that they resembled doll food portions. However, had the food tasted amazing then perhaps I would have been able to overlook the minuscule size of the portions. Unfortunately, it was not. It was mediocre at best. I adore fois gars having lived in France previously. I order it whenever I find it on the menu. This was such a disappointment... it had no flavor whatsoever & came with burnt toast as well. The pasta was good... nothing outstanding, but good. The restaurant came highly recommended & I was so looking forward to an excellent meal & culinary experience. I was incredibly disappointed. The service was excellent but other than that there is nothing that would bring me back or recommend the restaurant to anyone else.

Lorsque nous cherchons à comprendre le refus de servir pour 2 personnes ( nous étions 2 couples) le repas mets ,accord vin & qu'on nous le refuse d'un ton sec & cassant ,je qualifie ce service de 0:de plus elle nous a laissé sécher avec nos additions à notre table.!!! Vous êtes une adresse préférée à Québec mais ce service sous 0 nous laisse ... perplexe quant à continuer de recommander votre restaurant & c'est très dommage

One of the best meals I've had out in a long time! Every bit of the meal was perfection - it was beautifully plated, the flavor combinations were delicious, the service was great & everyone was very helpful, attentive & friendly. Highly recommend!!

Le service était super & la nourriture excellente. Par contre la quantité de nourriture par assiette était extrêmement petite pour le prix. Nous aimons manger dans divers restaurants & étions tous du même avis à table. Après avoir adoré la formule brunch nous sommes revenus pour le souper & avons tous été vraiment déçu de la quantité par rapport au prix. Ce n'est malheureusement plus un restaurant que je fréquenterai ni recommanderai à mes amis après cette expérience.

An absolutely fabulous restaurant. The food was interesting, unusual & extremely tasty. The staff were all exceptional. Very professional & personable. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an example of brilliant Canadian cuisine.
