About

The perfect upscale gastropub. We had the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing & it was excellent! Delightful flavours & generous portions, can't wait to return.

Amazing food. Amazing experience. Do the chefs tasting menu. You won't regret it. My wife & I have been here twice & it gets better each time. The service is also excellent. Last night the power went out due to tropical storm Debby & they somehow still pulled everything off. Awesome!

We had a wonderful time at Chez Rioux & Pettigrew. It was our first time doing a tasting menu & this place did not disappoint! The service was exceptional! From the moment we walked in, the staff was kind & attentive. The drinks were good. Tasting menu was 4 courses. I really enjoyed that the chef came out to explain each course & appreciated that he explained the dishes in English (not expected). One of the courses was not up our alley but presentation was still great. The dessert was the best thing we've ever had! We'd eat it 10 times over & were blown away! Overall a wonderful experience & definitely worth the price. Would recommend if you're looking to spoil yourself or celebrate a special occasion.

This was the best dinner restaurant we visited during our 4-day trip to Quebec City. The experience was exceptional, & the food was outstanding, making all the restaurants we tried afterward seem dull in comparison. We had the tasting menu, which included two appetizers, one entrée, & one dessert. We left feeling very full & super satisfied.

We had an amazing dinner - the Experience menu was fantastic. It was a blind tasting which adds to the fun.

I had the 4-course "secret" tasting menu, in which the dishes aren't described in advance. I was pleasantly surprised throughout, however, as each course was inventively prepared & delicious. The decor is informal but very comfortable, & the staff is knowledgeable & helpful. The best meal I've had in Quebec!

This is my boyfriend & I's favourite restaurant of all time. We currently live in Ottawa & plan a trip to Quebec at least once a year, purely to come to this restaurant. Every time we've dined, we've done the tasting menu with wine pairings & it has never once let us down. Every aspect of each dish is mindblowingly delicious & visually, they are works of art. The restaurant itself feels as if you're dining in someone's home or apartment. It's so cozy & inviting. Our favourite is the dining room in the back which overlooks the water. The host walks you through the kitchen to get there & you're greeted by the chefs! Such a fun element. We recommend this restaurant to everyone. An absolute must try!

The service was good, we sat at the bar & I really liked out bar tender. The cocktails were too sweet & not super well balanced, tho I think this would be fine for the average person. The meal was good. We got the tasting menu & I think the first & third dish were the best. The second & third were a bit lost in too many flavours. Overall good but now a 10/10 recommendation.

Our second visit. Love the Blind Tasting Menu. Last night featured bison which I had never had & loved it.
Food is beautifully prepared & presented. Staff is friendly & so knowledgeable Truly a place to enjoy!

We tried the tasting menu for dinner & the food was a little disappointing. My partner & I had pretty bad diarrhea after our dinner so the food was prob not well prepared. The tasting menu has 4 courses - cold appetizer, hot appetizer, main & dessert. The main was seared venison which I thought was too tough to chew. The dessert was prob the best dish. Overall, felt the food wasn't worth the hype. Service was really good though. The staff was attentive & gave us a good explanation of the wine pairing.
