AFFAMÉS D’HISTOIRE?

Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

4 of us dined at this lovely restaurant & ordered the chefs tasting menu with the discovery wine pairings. We loved that there was flexbility in what you received based on dietary restrictions. The courses were fresh, delicious, & the perfect portion size for a 4 course meal. Everyone left satisfied without being overly full. The wine pairings were interesting & somewhat uncommon . Our servers were very informative & pleasant & gave just the right amount of attention to our table. & the space itself is relaxing & full of charm. Highly recommend this place!

Ayant beaucoup aimé ma première visite au restaurant Chez Rioux & Pettigrew pour ce séjour bien spécial à Québec, j'avais donc offert à mes 5 invités d'aller à ce restaurant.

Accueil chaleureux. Attente plutôt longue pour les cocktails. On nous demande de commander les choix de repas & le serveur nous indique qu'il reviendra pour le vin.

Toutefois, voilà que les assiettes sont servies, on demande à voir le serveur.... certains commencent à manger parce que c'est long...

Le serveur est donc venu à notre table pour la prise de commande alors que 2 des invités avaient terminé de manger.

Réponse serveur : "Désolé j'étais ben occupé "

Malheureusement, une seule personne sur 6 a aimé son repas.

Ce sera donc définitivement notre Dernière visite Chez Rioux & Pettigrew.

The restaurant is amazing. We had the blind dining experience & it was wonderful food & service. One of the best we've ever had!
The noise level was high, especially because there were several very young children at the next table.
