AFFAMÉS D’HISTOIRE?

Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

A must in old Quebec! Food, service & atmosphere is perfect! & the best oysters we had ( & we eat a lot of them everywhere in the world)

Excellente table qui met en valeur des ingrédients locaux. Un classique sur la rue Saint-Paul. L'ambiance est chaleureuse & le service est avenant & attentionné. Le repas était excellent. Nous avons partagé le tartare de wapiti était fantastique. Une table à découvrir & redécouvrir.

Absolutely the best meal we've had in a very long time. We enjoyed a special 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing & it didn't disappoint. Every aspect of our evening was perfect. Thank you 🙏 to everyone who works hard to make this restaurant run seamless & present perfectly. We'll be back.

Très très belle découverte 🫶 L'expérience a plus à tous… de la pétoncle, au gravlax👌, que dire du vert accompagné de son foie gras😍…. Tout était savoureux. Notre vin espagnol était parfait! Je recommande à tous ! Superbe décor 🥰

What a wonderful time we had at Christmas dinner! The food & wine pairings were delightful. Our waiter was knowledgeable & fun, creating a festive atmosphere. The deer meat was delicious. & the restaurant was very romantic. We had a quiet table by a window. We will definitely go back!

We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary at Chez Rioux & Pettigrew & while we are not experts, we have had many great dining experiences over the years. Chex Rioux & Pettigrew was one of the very best. The set Holiday Menu was simply artwork for both the eye & the palate. Beautifully presented & wonderful fireworks for the taste buds. & while the food is the star here, the folks who hosted us & presented the food felt like old friends. Thank you so much for an evening we will be talking about for 30 years to come.

Expérience culinaire saisissante, que ce soit à la bouche ou à la vue. & un service exceptionnel.
Un peu déçue sur l'intention excessive d'acidité sur les plats, & de repartir en ayant faim, malgré un appétit léger. C'était notre deuxième venue, nous ne sommes pas certains de revenir. Toutefois, je ne le conseille très largement comme expérience. Ça reste un excellent restaurant 🌟

This was our second visit to Chez Rioux & Pettigrew, & if anything it was even more enjoyable than the first time. The special holiday menu was superb, & the wine pairings were very well chosen. I particularly liked the smoked salmon & the venison.

The staff were very knowledgable, friendly, & attentive, & the space is nicely decorated & cozy, but not crowded.
