Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

The staff at Chez Rioux were very welcoming; the food was delicious, well-presented & creative—the ambience of the restaurant is exceedingly lovely. We want to give a big thanks to our waiter, Felix—who was charming, knowledgeable & added to the magic of our first visit to Quebec City. It was a superb dining experience!

Excellent restaurant, fine cuisine avec un sommelier qui fait un accord met & vin original & qui convient parfaitement aux plats proposés. Nous avons été servis par Benjamin avec rapidité & élégance. La personne qui amène les plats les décrit très bien. Une attention particulière est portée pour les personnes ayant des intolérances ou des allergies. Le décor est rustique, avec une touche d'originalité.

What a treat to dine at this excellent restaurant. Everything from start to finish was perfect- the service was warm, friendly & very knowledgeable of the menu, ingredients & presentation. I did the four course tasting, & each dish was unique & delicious. Highly recommend

Best dinner in Quebec City! Our last evening on vacation & want a way to end! Dinner was delicious. Our group tried everything on menu (literally) & nothing disappointed. All were perfectly prepared & presented. Creative ingredients & good portions. Our server from Greece was delightful & we loved the cozy, charming atmosphere. Hope to return next summer!
