Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

Nous avons partagé un excellent brunch de Noel au restaurant Chez Rioux & Pettigrew. Les produits locaux sont cuisinés avec un raffinement exemplaire. Bravo à toute l'équipe!

What an incredible Christmas brunch! Perfectly cooked eggs both poached & sunny side up. The accompanying fare (risotto & sautéed mushrooms) were wonderfully flavorful & equally well prepared. Smoked salmon was excellent & the black pudding beyond belief. Truly an exceptional meal!

Celebrating Christmas Eve & a bday at the same time; due to a late decision on this restaurant—we weren't able to reserve table seating—but had a pleasant dining experience start at the bar with Jeremy, but then due to a cancellation for one of the tables—were able to finish dessert there. The "sparkling" presentation of dessert added to the bday celebration. Everyone was friendly & helpful—a wonderful final dining memory of our stay in French Canada.

Everything was just wonderful except for 1 issue We were in a very small space & in the same room as we were in sat a table of at least 10 people We couldn't here ourselves think I have no problem with people enjoying themselves I think the restaurant should have seated them in a larger space Most of our time was spent raising our voices in order to hear each other Also the servers needed to yell as well Our bill was around $350.00 In hindsight we should have left but where do you go on Christmas night with no reservations It was not the atmosphere we had hoped for It is a shame that this happened & I would not recommend it to my friends & we will not go back It is a shame because the food is amazing

This was our first visit to this restaurant. It exceeded my expectations. We had a lovely Christmas brunch The food was prepared with lot of care with the freshest of ingredients & the service was par excellence. We will be back. Loved the ambience of this restaurant.

Mon repas de poisson (entrée) & boudin (plat principal) était incroyablement savoureux. Mon conjoint a pris du saumon en plat principal & l'éclat de saveur était moins au rendez vous. Service chaleureux, simple & efficace. Dessert de pouding frit était exquis. Mon panna cotta au chocolat était trop sucré. Ambiance animée.

After doing some research, I decided on Chez Rioux & Pettigrew to celebrate my husbands birthday in romantic Quebec City. Without a doubt, a most memorable evening. A warm welcome, charming table in the window set the mood for the evening. There was a set Christmas menu with many choices to be had. The food was excellent!! The presentation & explanation made the plates more of an experience. A feast for the senses. The service was charming. Highly highly recommended. Would most definitely return on our next visit.

On a particulièrement apprécié le saumon mi-cuit & le dessert au chocolat du repas des fêtes. On a trouvé le plat principal végétarien un peu lourd, mais quand même délicieux. Il faut aussi souligner l'excellent service!
