Visited for my first time & tried the Holiday preset menu - nothing short of delicious. It was a 4 course meal, & we did the wine pairing as well. The scallop crudo dish (second dish), & the Roasted duck breast were my favourites. The wine pairings were lovely as well. Also had one of the best Pisco sours there!!

We tried the 5-course holiday tasting menu at Chez Rioux this Christmas. We didn't know what would be on the menu when we booked but we were thrilled with what we ate. We loved 4/5 dishes served. The first dish, a playful take on winter fruits, was vibrant in flavour & texture. The second, a scallop crudo in celeriac cream, was a miss & we didn't find the cream pleasant. The third course, was a celebration of the butternut squash. It was a butternut squash ravioli in a butternut squash broth, with shaved butternut squash mixed in. It was very tasty & a subtle, but delightful dish. The fourth course, roasted duck, was delicious! The duck was so flavourful & the black currant gravy was inspired. Plus an added topping of popcorn for crunch was super fun. But the best dish was served last. The gingerbread & lemon cream puff was exceptional. Service was fantastic, we were even treated to a free espresso martini when the bartender overheard us say we were sleepy. It was pricey but we'd be willing to go again for a special occasion. The restaurant had a cool vibe & offers a supervised coat check as well. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cozy with lovely service. Visiting from USA for a few days & this was one of the few high-rated places with reservations open. Had 5-course pre-fixe (only option over winter holiday week). Could be the food is better when they run a regular menu, but duck was overdone & avoid the black truffles at extra cost- they were, sadly, flavorless (old?). Other courses were fine, but really nothing that special even though things were described to be somewhat intriguing. The beets course & fir-flavored ice cream were the most well executed elements. Still a good experience & ambience- would recommend.

Phenomenal experience! This was our favourite restaurant during our trip with friends. The food was delicious, & so flavourful. Each dish is so unique & special. Especially the red pepper dessert, & sweet potato gnocchi. Very cozy inside, & the service is great. They describe each dish that arrives at your table. We can't wait to come back for our next visit!!

Great ambiance & staff, but food was a bit experimental for us & the 5 course took over 150 minutes which was too slow in our opinion. Overall still a good option to consider when you are in town!

On Christmas Day, we were thrilled to find this restaurant open, especially since many were closed. Our meal was exceptional, starting with oysters paired with champagne a perfect festive touch. The highlight was the duck with foie gras, complemented by freshly baked bread, which was simply divine. A special mention goes to our server, Jade, whose knowledge & friendliness enhanced our experience. She shared fascinating stories about the dishes & helped us choose the perfect wine, making our visit truly memorable. Highly recommend for a delightful dining experience!

Notre adresse préférée à Québec ! Des découvertes à chaque visite, une ambiance décontractée & toujours surpris à chaque service ! Accord met/vin qui vaut le prix & rehausse l'expérience ! On a déjà hâte d'y retourner en 2025 !

This place was incredible! The atmosphere was very cozy & it was overall a very cool place. We did the tasting menu which is 4 courses of surprise meals & each can be paired with a glass of wine. Every single one was outstanding. I would 100% come here again.

C'était ma première fois & j'ai adoré. C'était excellent, tous les plats s'arrimaient bien avec les accompagnements. Le tartare de cerf a été le meilleur que j'ai mangé de ma vie!
