Excellent food & service. Fresh & balanced flavour combinations. The fresh pasta with mushroom - one of the best we have had - abundance of a variety of wild mushrooms. The beef tataki with truffle was amazing. Friendly waiter who gave us the history of the restaurant. Altogether a very memorable meal.

Par où commencer.... C'est difficile de comprendre la note que ce restaurant ait pu obtenir au fil du temps. Nous avons donné une dernière chance ce soir (y sommes allés qq fois). Épicuriens & adeptes des plus grandes & moins grandes tables, je crois que nous sommes en mesure de commenter de manière honnête & objective. Essentiellement, le côté alcohol (cocktails) & vins c'est leur force. Du point de vue nourriture, ce n'est pas à la hauteur malgré la créativité qu'on souhaite mettre de l'avant. Par exemple, un filet de boeuf avec gambas à 52$ où se côtoient deux petits morceaux de viande & une crevette trop cuite, c'est un peu rire du monde. Leur entrée de foie gras est en fait une mousse & non un morceau de foie gras véritable comme il se doit. Il manque de serveurs, & donc, malgré un serveur très agréable & compétent, le service est très lent. Notre impression c'est que leur clientèle est touristique. Pas vraiment axée sur les connaisseurs. Il fait chaud dans ce resto tant les serveurs suintent & on doit demander d'ouvrir les fenêtres. Bref, pour avoir essayer encore & connaître de bons restos à Québec & ailleurs, il faut reconnaître l'effort mais la non réussîte.

Still thinking about the amazing dinner we had when visiting Quebec for the first time last year. The atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant I've eaten at before. We were taken through the kitchen area to our seating in the dining area which was such a different experience. To this day my dad & I have talked about how great the seared beef dish was - definitely worth getting a reservation & trying this restaurant when you are visiting Quebec City!

We were really excited to try the tasting menu, but at $80+ each, we had high expectations. The portions are to be expected but the soup appetizer was absolutely tiny & an odd arrangement of ingredients. We should have just ordered from the menu. The main dish was our favorite but the dessert was way too strong of a rose taste we couldn't eat it. I had come here years ago & loved the experience but this time not so much. Truly a disappointment as this was what I looked most forward to on my trip. The staff & ambiance were great though

We had heard that the food in Quebec was exceptional, but Chez Rioux & Pettigrew completely exceeded our expectations! The dishes were not only delicious but also artfully presented, with flavors that were out of this world. Every bite was a delightful surprise. The friendly & attentive staff added to the overall experience, making us feel right at home. If you're in Quebec & looking for an unforgettable meal, Chez Rioux & Pettigrew is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

We had the most wonderful dinner & overall experience dining here. The quaint comfortable atmosphere, the wine & the food were equally perfect, but our server, Ben, was was made our meal so memorable. He was kind, knowledgeable, attentive & genuinely cared about creating a special & memorable experience for us. We will recommend any/all friends visiting Quebec to dine there

The perfect upscale gastropub. We had the chef's tasting menu with the wine pairing & it was excellent! Delightful flavours & generous portions, can't wait to return.
