Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

The meal & service was fabulous. My only complaint was that I had asked for a romantic table as we were celebrating my husband's 70th birthday. We sat in a corner & my view was of a wall.

We tried the tasting menu for dinner & the food was a little disappointing. My partner & I had pretty bad diarrhea after our dinner so the food was prob not well prepared. The tasting menu has 4 courses - cold appetizer, hot appetizer, main & dessert. The main was seared venison which I thought was too tough to chew. The dessert was prob the best dish. Overall, felt the food wasn't worth the hype. Service was really good though. The staff was attentive & gave us a good explanation of the wine pairing.

Food was amazing - taste great & plated beautifully. I liked how the server explained whats on the plate when they served it to us. Highly recommend this restaurant - fine dining at reasonable price.

Honest dishes well executed. Booked by chance at the last minute as was not at all disappointed. Easy to fall into a tourist trap when dining in Quebec City, this was not the case. Hospitality was equally well conducted, light & jovial. Merci à notre serveur Simon. We will come again. I recommend you go for the tasting menu, we were stuffed by the end.

I enjoyed my visit. The oysters were a delicious entree. My main course of pork belly was great. There were a few glitches with the service. My husband found it hard to find a main course to his liking, but he is a picky diner whose taste leans towards simpler foods. I am more adventurous & I really enjoyed my meal.
