Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

All the wait staff was terrific but special thanks to Benjamin who was terrific, & ease my introduction to Absinthe! The preparation of the food put a unique twist on classic restaurant fare & the presentation of the food was beautiful.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre expérience gastronomique chez vous. Un seul petit bémol, bien que le Parmentier de canard était savoureux, nous aurions préféré un mets un peu plus prestigieux, surtout en raison du coût. Les autres plats étaient vraiment exquis.

I can see why this restaurant gets such a high rating. The service was impeccable, & our server knew quite a lot about the wine menu. My husband had the pork belly which had been marinated in maple syrup & black garlic, while I enjoyed the seafood bouillabaisse with baby fennel. We finished with a cheese platter. Somebody from the kitchen brought out the meals & explained the flavours to each person in the restaurant. The flavour combinations were amazing & the menu is seasonal, using local produce. Definitely recommend this place for a gourmet meal that is prepared with care.
