I'd highly recommend making a reservation as it's a busy place & can be hard to get a seat.
Went here twice, once for happy hour & again for a dinner reservation. Happy hour was great with drink & food specials, though we waited quite a while for the food to come. Friendly & attentive staff. We returned another night for a dinner reservation. Staff were again attentive & friendly. The food wasn't great. The two soups we ordered, Lobster Bisque & Turnip Maple, were heavily peppered so when more fresh grinds of pepper were offered, they weren't needed. We love black pepper, so a non-issue. The second course, Lobster & Asparagus Risotto, came out with no seasoning at all! There wasn't a bit of salt in the dish & it could have used fresh pepper but we declined when offered given the first course soups were heavily seasoned. We were also offered fresh Parmesan for the risotto but declined because it's Lobster. Of course, short of getting up to grab pepper ourselves, staff were impossible to track down & there wasn't a salt shaker in sight. As a result, we didn't enjoy our food. As well, my risotto was loaded with lobster; my spouse's dish had far less. This inconsistency is a turn off. Dessert, sugar pie, was a nice end to the meal. Overall, an okay meal in Quebec among okay meals. Still looking for good food in Quebec…
Our first visit was so good (excellent service & ambiance with delicious gourmet-level food), that we returned two nights later for our wedding anniversary dinner. Food, service, ambiance all again superb, but lovingly enhanced by staff giving us a special corner table, celebratory dessert, as all made us feel special, individually offering kind words & congratulations. In truth, though, any patron will leave extremely satisfied. We recommend Conti most highly.
Great service & attentive staff
Very nice ambience
The food is good but not mind blowing
I ordered :
Ceaser salad -very flavourful
Mashed potatoes - nice & buttery
Salmon tartare - very small portion, not enough flavor, but the fish was fresh
Washed it all down with a negroni
For dessert we ordered the crem brulee - the cream itself was nice & tasty, the sugar layer was a bit too thick
All & all nice place for dinne
Our experience was underwhelming overall. We arrived 5 mins early for our 8pm reservation, but were told to wait at the bar for what ended up being over 30 minutes, even though there were multiple open tables around the restaurant; staff were buzzing past us constantly but no one checked in on us or updated us. Eventually, the host came to us & said with a shrug,'well I guess I can put you here...' & finally seated us in the dining room. Our server was great; she was friendly & attentive. But the menu was somewhat predictable & everything we ordered turned out to be what I'd call adequate (although the halibut was very overcooked & actually inedible; but by that time we were ready to just leave, though). We skipped dessert & coffee & went elsewhere. The space is cool, but we didn't really enjoy it because of the other issues. Not sure if it was an off night, but it was definitely a disappointing experience overall for our last night in the city, especially after a week of incredible 5-star experiences.
Food was outstanding. Very nice menu. The wait staff was personable, efficient & brought dessert to celebrate 2 of us having birthdays. We will eat here again since we will be staying 1 month.
C'était excellent le service & de l'entrée au dessert. J'ai pris le carré d'agneau, très bon. Nous reviendrons, merci!
I chose this restaurant based on some recommendations from a Quebec city travel Facebook page. We had reservations for 8 PM & it's just so happened that a thunderstorm was happening at the same time so we had some fun walking to the restaurant in the rain. The restaurant was very full when we arrived. We both started out each with a glass of wine. I wanted to try the turnip & maple soup to start & I thought it was good. My partner doesn't care for turnips, but I do. I had the veal
Medallions with rosemary, roasted small potatoes, asparagus, & carrots. It was cooked to perfection & tasted excellent! My partner had the shrimp & pepper risotto & he thought it was good. We passed on dessert because we were both full from the dinner.
