I want to like this restaurant, because it's associated with my favorite hotel. However, I was disappointed. My aim of this review is to make the restaurant better, not to ruin its reputation.
One course, the wagyu beef, was worthy of the price. All other courses were simply not good. Overly creative & lacking flavor. I'm truly amazed the restaurant has 4.7 stars. Maybe we had a bad night.
Capping all this was an abysmal wine pairing. It was as if the sommelier was attempting to find the most eccentric & unusual pairings. She did. & they all missed the mark.
I miss Chez Muffy, the restaurant Coteau replaced.

The entire experience was a delight. The atmosphere is romantic & the waitstaff is attentive. They had no issue making everything gluten free for us. The sommelier was wonderful. We loved the wine pairings & learning about the wine. The food was delicious. Each course had amazing flavors. We loved our special night at Coteau! & though it was a bit of a splurge , it was totally worth it!

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding-from the sommelier & wait staff to the host & manager-warm, knowledgeable, & genuinely attentive. Every one of the five signature dishes & sides was extraordinary, showcasing incredible flavor, texture, creativity, & balance. The wine selections were surprising & delicious. The atmosphere was equally memorable: soft ambient lighting, a stunning glass fireplace beside our table, exposed beams, & stone walls in a beautiful historic space. Absolutely unforgettable. Highly recommend-& we can't wait to return.

Service was fantastic as was the food. Very creative & memorable. The decor & ambiance was also better than I expected based on pictures available online. Only thing lacking was a wine pairing option but obviously that's not really needed.

Dinner at Chez Muffy was exceptional, definitely the highlight of our meals during our week in Quebec City. The atmosphere is so unique & the staff all welcoming & super knowledgeable. We had our 5 & 8 year old with us & the restaurant was super accommodating, offering them each options they loved.

The discovery/tasting menu was out of this world. My husband had the wine pairing & I had the non-alcoholic pairing. Both were excellent, but the non-alcoholic pairing was so interesting, I've never had a drink pairing quite like it. Highly recommend trying it out. Each course was wonderful, but we both agreed that the scallop course was our favorite. Truly an exceptional dinner from start to finish.

As a Michelin 2 star restaurant the food quality, atmosphere, & superlative wine were over & above my expectations! Enjoying a 2012 Chateau Rayas ( White ) was a bucket list surprise, & huge thanks to Christophe ( the sommelier) for finding such a rare bottle in the cellar. My sole criticism was the pacing of the Chef's Table dinner selection which was far too rapid to savour sufficiently the details expressed in each presentation. Service did slow down but earlier on the table was chocked with food & I felt overwhelmed … All in all a great evening & we are looking forward to returning .. Thank you

Exquisite prefix menu (no a la carte) with four options vegetarian & non vegetarian with 5 or 7 courses. Wine pairing is also available. Presentation is quite inventive.
