About us

Dorsay British Pub – A door to history

Since 1987, Dorsay, like Le Gaulois since 1987, has been part of the landscape of Old Quebec. Founded by Marcel Veilleux and taken over in 2024 by his son Christian Veilleux, along with Lyne Blackburn and Marc-Olivier Germain, Dorsay continues the tradition of true British pubs: warmth, camaraderie, cold pints, and tasty dishes.

In the heart of Old Quebec, a stone's throw from the Château Frontenac, our gastro pub cuisine, created by chef Benoit Poliquin, celebrates local products: seafood chowder, bangers and mash, fish and chips, homemade blood sausage, London BBQ wings, and much more.

So good. Great pub with great food & service. We went for mussels & were not disappointed. The mussels were delicious, especially the mustard ones which our fantastic server, Nancy, recommend.

Last minute choice... GREAT decision! Had the happy hour mussels. Our waitress Nancy suggested the mussels in mustard sauce. We were hesitant but they were a home run! Great food & amazing staff. We ate... we laughed & we made a new friend! Great way to end a fantastic trip to an amazing city. Highly recommend!

Was a cool pub. I had bangers & mash that I really liked. My wife had mussels & fries, she was not impressed. Was an English pub so there was not a ton of flavor in the broth. We are used to more punch when it comes to mussels. The poutine was ok a bit salty. We have had better here in Quebec. The pub itself is very cool inside. I felt transported to London.

Our annual stop to chill for an afternoon. Great ambience with great service. Mussels prepared in white wine which comes with fries were amazing & depending on season but the one we had is meaty for our 1st day but not on the next day. Went there twice indeed in a row. Highly recommend this Pub if you happen to be there. Will try their dinner option in our next visit. Thanks for the meal 🍽?

Absolutely loved my meal here. The mussels were incredibly fresh & flavorful, & the fish & chips were spot?on - crispy, golden, & perfectly seasoned. It felt like an authentic British classic with a French?Québécois twist. I enjoyed every single bite.

We loved this pub so much we came twice during our recent visit to Québec City!

Nancy, our server, was so friendly & gracious & professional. We really appreciated her service on both visits.

The food was delicious. We tried the chicken wings, the'Sunday Roast' poutine, the mussels, & the Queen Elizabeth dessert. They were all excellent! We can't wait to return in future & try more menu items. Would highly recommend this spot for lunch or supper.

In addition, their happy hour deals are awesome! $6 pints & $6 gin & tonique & $5 snacks can't be beat.

Ideal location in the heart of Vieux Québec.

Great Pub in the heart of Old Town Quebec City. Had the mussels & frites & the beer of the day. Service from Jean-Luc & the rest of the staff was exceptional. Huge serving all around.
