L'Échaudé is widely regarded as a staple in Old Quebec, celebrated for its authentic French cuisine and charming atmosphere. Many diners praise the exceptional quality of dishes such as the duck confit, scallops, and beef tartare, noting that the food often balances creativity and tradition. While the service is frequently described as professional, attentive, and welcoming, some experiences are occasionally impacted by longer wait times or inconsistent pacing during busy periods.

Excellent food & attentive staff. We showed up with a group of 10 without a reservation (we were very fortunate) & speaking different languages. The staff were patient, efficient & helpful. We hope to eat here again on a future visit.

Excellent bistro !

Came on a Sunday evening with reservation made a day in advance. Decently located in a quiet & small street close to the old port. Had the option of outdoor or indoor seating, chose indoor dining room.

After reading many reviews of others raving about the goat cheese & duck confit, we ordered those alongside the pork & scallop dish. The goat cheese felt a little underwhelming & was relatively simple, had the creamy texture of goat cheese with what tasted like slightly seasoned tomato sauce.

The duck confit was had a very earthy flavor, especially when paired with the carrots & squash puree. I felt the dish had a very monotone-like flavor where many of the elements carried the same taste, not much new to expect with each bite. The scallops were done well, however the pork was a little on the drier side despite it being pork belly.

Overall, it was a little mediocre to me. Most of the flavors were pretty simple & I felt some of the dishes could have had more elements with different flavor profiles. No complaints with the service as waiters were nice & water was refilled regularly.

Great restaurant, stoped by before leaving Quebec, we mentioned we're a bit in a rush & the food came quick, everything we ordered (frog legs, duck confit, scallops & pork) was delicious, I'd defiantly recommend this place!
