Attentive service, & great food. We had-& highly recommend- samosas, butter chicken, chicken curry & several other dishes. All very fresh. Many vegetarian options. This small family restaurant is a gem!
The food was great. we tried a variety of dishes & all were freshly made & delicious. I had the chicken curry with moderate spiciness (2 peppers), it was the best curry that I have ever had, was hot (which I liked). The restaurant is small, unassuming & located below ground. The staff of this family run business were super attentive & friendly to our group of seven. The chef came out during dinner to make sure we were enjoying our meals.
I was quite pleased with the food. I would like to give 4.5. We had only vegetarian dishes. The vegetables in the samosas were flavorful. The papadum was crackly & spicy. The two vegetarian dishes were also spicy & very tasty, especially the Bombay Aloo. I plan to go back.
We had lunch at Spices of India today & absolutely loved it! The staff was super friendly & warm with us, especially the lady who welcomed us & kindly offered us some soup while we waited for our main dishes. Such a thoughtful gesture!
The food was incredibly tasty, fresh, & honestly tasted like it had just been made. Me & my husband were really surprised by the quality & flavors. Everything was delicious & full of flavor.
We definitely recommend this place & will for sure come back again!
Spices of India offers a decent variety of Indian dishes with good flavors & spice options. The food can be hit or miss, but portions are satisfying. Overall, a solid choice in Quebec City if you're craving Indian cuisine.
i'm confused by the reviews :c
the food was good! i think it's better to take vegetarian dishes at this place, because they were better. also we went for lunch, & it was only 15$ for lots of food :)
the place is pretty, like finding something hidden.
but what stood out the most is the service. the couple (i think they were a couple, i'm not sure?) were so kind! & when we commented on how good the food was, they gave us some more
i'll definitely be going back. thanks for the lunch! ☆?
Wonderful Indian restaurant with authentic flavors & warm hospitality! The dishes were rich, well-spiced, & beautifully served. Perfect for both family dinners & group gatherings - everyone at our table enjoyed it. A must-try spot for real Indian food lovers.
I recently tried the Rice Dal & Dal Makhni from Spices of India, & both dishes were absolutely delicious. The Rice Dal had a comforting, home-style taste with the perfect balance of spices - simple yet full of flavor. The Dal Makhni was rich, creamy, & cooked to perfection, with that authentic slow-cooked taste you expect from a great Indian kitchen. Together, they made for a wholesome & satisfying meal. Highly recommend Spices of India for anyone craving genuine Indian flavors!
We tried a mix of dishes-butter chicken, dal makhani, paneer tikka, & garlic naan-& honestly, everything was full of rich, traditional flavors. The butter chicken was creamy & perfectly spiced, & the naan was soft, fresh, & loaded with garlic-just how we like it. Portions were generous, & everything came out hot & fresh.
The service was great too. The staff was super friendly, quick, & even adjusted the spice levels just the way we wanted. The vibe of the place was cozy & welcoming, with soft Bollywood music playing in the background, which added a nice touch.
We ended the meal with mango lassi & gulab jamun, & both were absolutely delicious.
Whether you're familiar with Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place is a total gem. Can't wait to go back!
I ignored the -ve reviews since wanted to eat Vegetarian Indian food & this was close by & in the end it was a good decision. We ordered rice dal tadka & couple of more veg dishes & the food tase was very home like & we did enjoyed it & in the end we took parcel of couple of dishes for later. The service was good & only thing you can say it the decor & place ....its in basement & has a very old set up ....other than that it was a good experience.
