A wonderful meal! We sat at the end of the kitchen counter with a view of the plating station & I'm so glad we did. It was a little less crowded than the main restaurant & interesting to watch. The service was terrific. When she offered, we let our server choose our courses for us, which I recommend -- I don't think I would have chosen some of the dishes we tried & her selection was excellent & well-paced. My favorite of the night was the agedashi tofu, which was surprisingly delicious, but everything we had was very good -- pickles, marinated quail eggs, bluefin toro in a green sauce, agedashi tofu with bonito, mushroom yakitori, & vegetable dumplings. They were able to make all of their interesting cocktails without alcohol, which was appreciated. There were two of us & we both left full & satisfied but not overly stuffed. Mercí, Hono Izakaya!

Had a recommendation from our Airbnb & this place did not disappoint!

Book a reservation - we were able to get a reservation same day.

Cocktails were delightful. But the star of the show was the izayaki skewers - absolutely incredible. We loved the miso salmon & lamb the best, the pork belly was very good as well. The other options we had were good - the dumplings & izonomyaki but if we went back we would just had the skewers!

Honnêtement, cela coûte cher pour ce qu'on propose.
Pour moi, lorsqu'on propose des plats à ce prix, il faut être sans reproche & exemplaire sur les plats & les services.

Le serveur avait l'air de faire de son mieux, mais pour le prix affiché sur la carte, je m'attendais à une bien meilleure expérience gustative & un service hors-pair.

La'soupe Miso' & le'Okonomiyaki au flanc de porc' était trop salé, la présentation & la garniture était pas mal, mais dans l'ensemble, il n'y avait aucune harmonie.
Au prix payé, il fallait bien le finir...

Le'Wagyu' est quant à lui exagéré sur le prix au vu de ce qui est servi.
En terme de saveur, la viande était très bonne, mais bon, ça laisse un goût amer au vu du prix.
Alors certains diront que cette viande coûte cher le Kg, d'accord, certes, mais pour 40$, il faudrait revoir le concept de ce qui est servi, surtout que servi avec des patates & du choux ça laisse perplexe.

Les cocktails manquaient également de saveur, bien que demandé sans alcool, on devrait tout de même ressentir & goûter l'arôme ou les arômes de ce qui est annoncé.
Nous avions demandés sans alcool, mais un des 2 cocktails contenaient de l'alcool...

Outre tout ceci, entre les oublis/erreurs/retards & autres on en retiendra une expérience de découverte mais sans plus.
On préfèrera une expérience de sushi à volonté, préparé à la demande & servi rapidement.

Service & nourriture incroyable ! Nous avons donné carte blanche à notre serveuse pour nos repas & tout était délicieux. Notre serveuse connaissait ses produits (autant les cocktails que les plats).

Amazing meal, start to finish. Great service, delicious cocktails, & a pork belly okonomiyaki I will be thinking about for a long time. It's the kind of restaurant that makes me wish I was local.

We had dinner at Hon? Izakaya on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The food was good as well as cocktails. The food was a little pricey for the portion & taste. Service was really good. My one remark is that as the partner of an Asian person, I would hope to see proper representation at Asian restaurants. I did not see a single Asian staff member, which I think is disappointing, when making profit out of the food from another culture.

Cocktails incroyables, bouffe absolument délicieuse & service au top. Mon resto préféré, ce serait bien dommage de devoir s'en priver!

Belle expérience! L'ensemble des plats & les cocktails (avec & sans alcool) étaient savoureux. Coup de coeur pour le agedashi tofu, les dumplings & les sashimis.
