Completely blown away by this place. Make sure you come starving because you're definitely going to want to order everything on the menu. I couldn't believe that everything we ate was an actual 10/10, NO NOTES! The Sapporo + yuzu cordial was lovely. Service was impeccable. The entire experience was actually so good, we came back the next day to go to their ramen spot next door… which of course, was also amazing. Our QC trip wouldn't have been the same without Hono

The reviews certainly weren't lying when they said this is one of the best Japanese restaurants around.

Coming from Toronto where I've had many great Japanese meals, I wasn't sure where this restaurant would rank. After dining there, it's definitely one of the top Japanese restaurants I've been to in Canada! The highlights for us were the edamame, sashimi, & all of the skewers (standout was the pork belly, but the others were all amazing as well). For us personally, the curry karaage & rice bowls were not as impressive, though still great. If I had the chance to come back, I'd treat this as purely an appetizer & yakitori restaurant, because those aspects were extremely delicious & reasonably priced.

Service was also great & attentive, which is important in a place where you will (likely) be ordering multiple times due to the small size of the tables. Hopefully we have the opportunity to try their ramen restaurant next time!

Unexpected Michelin delight in Québec City

On our third day in Québec City, I was craving something warm, brothy, & familiar. A quick Google search led me to Honor Izakaya, just a few minutes from our hotel - & as we approached, I noticed a Michelin Recommendation 2025 sticker on the door. Expectations officially raised.

We arrived at 5:33 PM & the izakaya section was already full, so we went with ramen - & it did not disappoint.

🍜 I ordered the miso ramen, which came with tender pork, bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, & a soft-boiled egg. The broth was rich & savory, slightly salty but deeply satisfying. Everything was perfectly balanced, & exactly what I needed after days of Western food.

Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, & now I understand why it caught Michelin's eye. A lovely little spot that hits the spot.

💡Tip: Arrive early or make a reservation in advance if you want to dine in the izakaya section - it fills up fast.

Plats délicieux & frais, en toute simplicité ! Service agréable & rapide, sans oublier les boissons locales offertes en restaurant. Nous y retournerons certainement ! Les ramens étaient bons, sans oublier la saveur du bouillon, wow !
