JJacques was an outstanding find with an amazing atmosphere, superb cocktails & incredible food. The tomahawk steak was perfection & the oysters were fresh & delicious. The superb service by our waiter Nicholas topped off the experience for our group of 6. Highly recommended. The speakeasy entrance off the alley added to the whole experience. Well done!

I don't give many fives.... I would give this place a 6 if I could! Fun, beautiful, refined. All packed behind a surprising entrance that had my girlfriend asking if we had accidentally come to the back kitchen door 😁.
The service was spot on, the food wasn't good... It was incredible. The atmosphere blended modern & comfortable. Reservations are needed & it was fun sitting at the bar & watching the awesome staff cook & make meals. I can't recommend JJacques highly enough!!

Ambiance & style. We wandered out into the city looking for a Ramos Gin Fizz, & were delighted to find this gem. Highly recommend a visit to this cool establishment.

Highly recommended for seafood lovers. The Platter seafood is good for two & the lobster risotto is a must. The service was excellent & food was phenomenal.

Everything from the food, service & atmosphere was very enjoyable! The food was absolutely delicious & served very fresh. I highly recommend their cocktails, one of the most diverse & beautifully crafted cocktail lists I've ever seen. You'll see what I mean when you go. It will keep me coming back all the way from another province. Thank you! Merci beaucoup.

Wow, we had cocktails & dinner here last night & everything was fantastic.
Selection of cocktails was impressive- many different styles & complex. We sat at the bar & it was a really fun experience to watch them get made.
Food wise, highly recommend the butterfish tataki & foie gras torchon. We also ordered oysters (delicious!), mushroom tortellini & poached pear for dessert. All were excellent.
Service was 10/10 from start to finish- servers were lovely & attentive.

Would highly recommend & suggest reservations as it got busy really fast!

We had an exceptional experience at JJacques. The atmosphere felt exclusive & elevated, & the service truly stood out - especially thanks to Nathan. He took the time to walk us through both the food & drink menus with genuine care & enthusiasm, offering thoughtful recommendations that were absolutely on point. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, & thanks to him, we've discovered a new favourite cocktail: the Silver Monk.

A remarkable dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

This place was the highlight of my trip to Quebec City.

The ambience was great; the music, the lighting, the decor.

The cocktails were very good (my husband & I shared three between the two of us), as were the oysters & blinis with gravlax.

The best part of our experience here was our server Nicholas, who took excellent care of us & made my birthday very special.

Highly recommend, & we will be back!

Recommended by an acquaintance, & seconded by a bartender in a more touristy part of the city, this speakeasy offered us an adventurous experience. Almost invisible from the outside, J. Jacques invited us to pass through a black curtain & - voilà! - took us to another place. It had perhaps the best drink menu I've ever seen, with a range of classics on the left & new concoctions on the right of every page. The tower of seafood was fun, but the drinks are clearly the highlight, from a very talented bartender. A strange fellow customer, a shoeless & almost shirtless local yokel, provided unintentional entertainment with his drunken singing (had he perhaps performed at the folk night at the FEQ the night before?). The wait staff was very attentive & kind, & offered excellent recommendations in perfect English when our French faltered (which was very quickly!). This is one of my favorite, most unforgettable restaurant experiences ever. Highly recommended!
