On a savory buckwheat crepe, we got tomato sauce, tomatoes, asparagus, spinach, onion & a side of Dijon mustard. On the sweet crepe we got brown chestnut "marron" Cream (the server checked with the chef & confirmed this was vegan), strawberries, bananas, & maple syrup. Vegans: Ask them to omit the decorative whipped cream dollop that they will put on the side of the sweet plate. With the buckwheat crepe, don't expect an eggy & fluffy crepe, but they were tasty & filling!
It's never nice to leave a bad review but just want to warn people... I am French & from Britanny. My family & I love buckwheat pancakes & were excited to go to this place for dinner. Our waitress was lovely, but we were very surprised when our buckwheat crêpes arrived; they were very dark in colour, which didn't make sense to us, & sadly they tasted awful. My son couldn't eat his. We were so disappointed as with a name like'Casse-Crêpe Breton' we expected as close to authentic. My husband had a white flour crêpe which was a little better. We didn't order dessert.
We had breakfast here & loved the food! Their crape is very chewy & delicious. Buckwheat crape was also very good. They have savory & sweet crapes. Staffs were friendly & very nice as well!
Thought this would be a nice place for breakfast. All hot drinks were lukewarm at best. I ordered a white crepe & got one that was buckwheat - so dry & hard to eat. Won't be coming back here again.
Great location & cozy interior with excellent customer service. However, we experienced a significant delay in getting our crepe order ready, which took more than 50 minutes. Unfortunately, no one came to apologize or inform us about the delay, leading to a frustratingly long wait. When my order finally arrived, it was not worth the wait. I ordered a turkey crepe, which I found tasteless, with the meat resembling the cheapest turkey cold cut. Perhaps I made the wrong choice, but it was a disappointing meal overall. This visit gets only one star from me. I would not return based on this experience. However, I'm giving three stars in total because my wife was satisfied with her roast beef on buckwheat crepe
Vegan options - get the buckwheat crepes with strawberries & maple butter. You won't regret it. My friend said it was better than his
I forgot which flavor I ordered, but it contained mushroom & mozzarella cheese so it was L' omelette maybe? & the sweet one was customized, I remember we asked for strawberry & homemade apple sauce. & one each of buckwheat & plain crepe. Actually, I was not really like the buckwheat one, because the fiber texture was too apparent to me. The plain crepe was better. It was my personal opinion, & I believe buckwheat one must be loved by others. Regarding the flavor, the savory one & sweet one were both ordinary, it wouldn't give you surprise but wouldn't let you down as well. Although the crepe was not make me feel amazing, it was a good restaurant for enjoying the environment!! I think the key was not for appetite, it was for curing homesickness💛
These crepes are as good as the best crepes I had in France. We make sure we stop there every time we go to Quebec City. I recommend going with the regular instead of buckwheat crepe & to try the savoury options as well. Wonderful place that is worth the wait.
We enjoyed our savory buckwheat crepes for lunch. We sat at the bar so we could watch the masterful crepe making. The service was great & the atmosphere was pleasant. We can't wait to go back for sweet crepes!
