I picked this place because it had Dover Sole on its menu, I had no idea of the experience we were about have... I loved it! We were in QC for the night & I called around 3:30 for an 8 pm reservation. I loved the atmosphere, exactly what you would expect for an old school vibe. Table side service is rare nowadays & it brought back fond memories. All the staff were men, following old school hierarchy roles. Very efficient & well coordinated. Our main server Andreas from Milan was charming & he knew it, lol. Well played sir, well played. The bread course was nice. The Caesar salad was nice & tangy, well balanced. My Dover Sole was beautiful. My partners Filet Mignon was gorgeous. The rice, potatoes, carrots & asparagus were all on point. For dessert... the raspberry sorbet was perfect & crème brûlée was divine. After a week of eating at restaurants... including Maison Boulud...this was my favourite meal. I will be there again next time I visit Quebec City.
Avec Andrea nous avons passé une superbe soirée: avec Andrea qui a fait cuire notre steak filet mignon, à la perfection & la salade César était la meilleure que nous avons mangé depuis au moins 5 ans. Il faut comprendre qu'il est vraiment fier!🌈 Avec Andréa, je mets l'étoile de fierté ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Je vous recommande le vin Cosmus, un élixir de plaisir! Andréa va vous le servir avec plaisir! Andrea est en train de me créer un nouveau thé. J'aimerais vraiment mettre 6 étoiles
What a delightful experience. Really wanted an authentic french dining experience while visiting Old Quebec for a few days with my sister. Le Continental was all that I hoped for & so much more. Our waiter Denis was attentive but not over bearing or rushed. We had a reservation for 2 at 1700 & felt we got the best seat in house. Our Caesar salad was prepared tableside & the experience was very cool. Denis explained as he blended the dressing, it was definitely not your average salad. We also had escargot which was also amazing, not overly garlicky just right. For my entree I had the shrimp flambe & it was amazing not including the table side show which was also fun. Shrimps were succulant & presented beautifully. My sister had the Sirloin flambe & it was cooked as she ordered to perfection, with a table side show in tandem while Denis cooked my shrimp. & even if you don't usually have dessert you'll be amazed at the the cherries jubilee if you love cherries. Just amazing in every aspect of dining. Do yourself a favor & splurge at Le Continental while in Old Quebec, you will only regret it if you don't do it. Thank you, Denis & Le Continental.

We were so impressed with our experience at Le Continental that we returned the very next night! On our first visit, we had the special Flambé duck, which was an absolute delight. The flavors were rich & perfectly balanced, & the tableside preparation added a unique touch to the evening. We couldn't resist coming back the next night to try the Flambé steak, but the duck remained the standout dish-it was truly exceptional. The Caesar salad was fresh & flavorful, & the sweets were the perfect ending to both meals. The service was top-notch, with the staff making us feel welcome & ensuring everything was flawless. Le Continental has certainly earned a special place in our hearts, & we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Quebec City! & when we travel again to Quebec City we know where to go from now.
Nous avons été très déçus du Continental, supposé être un grand classique au service impeccable. Notre réservation était seulement à 20h30, donc on s'attend à être dans la salle à manger principale en 2e tablée. Mais non, on nous a placé au 2e étage dans une salle privée qui n'a vraiment pas le même cachet qu'au rez-de-chaussée. Un autre groupe assez bruyant était déjà là. De plus, notre serveur en formation ne nous a pas recommandé les bons plats (& fait tomber une flûte de bière qui a littéralement explosé sur la table, mais ça, ça peut arriver). Le filet mignon était trop cuit & les plats recommandés ne faisaient pas de cuisson à la table, ce que nous aurions aimé voir. Les pétoncles géants n'étaient pas vraiment plus gros que d'habitude. Cependant, la bisque de homard, le gratin dauphinois & la salade césar étaient tous des plats très délicieux. Pour le prix de la facture, on s'attendait à plus.
The place is very nice with a very unique performance. Every worker here are very friendly with talents. There are selections on the menu that cooks right in front of us including the steak, seafood, & Caesar salad. Many employees are bilingual & communicates very well. The food is amazing as well with many selections. The steak is well cooked, & the seafood are so fresh. Definitely recommend everyone who is gonna be visiting Old City of Quebec
Made reservations from the advice of a friend. Just a great experience. Started with very good cocktails & Canadian lobster as an appetizer (excellent). Then had flambé steak prepared tableside. Not only a great experience & entertaining but the food was outstanding. They also do Caesar salad tableside but we thought it would be too much food. Highly recommend
The pictures I am sharing, are of my very first visit with my wife from February 17, 2024. My wife & I were beyond impressed with the phenomenal service we received. The evening had commenced with me forgetting to bring my reading glasses with me, making it difficult for me to read the menu. That is until our server brought me an assortment of extra reading glasses to remedy this self inflicted & embarrassing dilemma. From that moment on, the entire dining experiences was nothing short of fabulous. My wife's exact words were, "I will never eat another Caesar's salad as good as this". After that evening, my & I unanimously decided we needed to return for a repeat visit..... which was yesterday, June 29, 2024. & just like our first visit, yesterday's visit did not disappoint!!! Oh, & just for clarity, we are from Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. We definitely look forward to more visits in the future.
Food: 5/5 - The preparation of the caesar salad & steaks was technical, exemplary, & meticulous. The salad dressing was seasoned well & perfectly emulsified. The steaks were cooked optimally'saignant.' The overall tasting experience was nothing short of sublime. Service: 5/5 - Issam deserves all the praise & commendations for his attention to detail & his recommendations. He displays immense respect to the patrons through his thoughtful service & to his craft through his masterful skill expression. Atmosphere: 5/5 - Clean & comfortable dinibg space. Lively but not loud. Overall ambience is one of convivial enjoyment or food & wine. To conclude, simply the best dining experience I've had.
