Le Continental is widely regarded as a premier dining destination in Quebec City, celebrated for its timeless elegance and classic French cuisine. Guests frequently highlight the unique, old-world atmosphere and the exceptional tableside preparation of dishes, such as the signature Caesar salad, various flambé steaks, and crêpes Suzette, which provide an engaging and memorable culinary performance. The staff is consistently described as professional, attentive, and skilled, contributing to a high level of service that makes many patrons feel truly special during their visits. While the experience is often noted as a significant investment, most visitors find the combination of high-quality food, expert service, and nostalgic charm to be well worth the cost for special occasions or a quintessential dining experience.

Pretty much everyone who visits Québec City raves about Le Continental & insists on paying a visit. So we did, & it was good food, theatrics & lot of money. The service was excellent, & we were taken care of. The staff are attentive & well presented as you would expect. Cocktails are nice to start off. Our starters arrived looking good. My Escargot not only looked good but tasted great as it was handled well by the chef. The classic Minestrone soup got a thumbs up from my partner. We had to go for the famous Caesar Salad, which was freshly prepared right in front of you, & it tasted divine. & then came the main course with the drama, which makes it interesting. My steak was nicely handled, & the only quib I had was the consistency of the sauce, which was too runny. My partner's fillet mignon also got a thumbs up. The sides & bread with butter were good. Finally, the Crepe Suzette was also prepared in front of us, fresh & delicate & lovely. The atmosphere was nice but a little dark for me with lightning. It definitely was an experience, particularly with the biggest tip I've ever given.

Caesar salad was decent, the inside of the foie gras was a bit too runny, & the orange duck was average & I couldn't tell if they forgot the butter or if that's just not supposed to be in the dish.

The service was amazing.

One of the best dining experience we have had in recent memory. The presentation of flaming whiskey shrimp & a filet to die for by our table side chef "Nicolas" was entertaining, a cooking lesson, & an unbelievable exquisite tasting meal. We ate at six establishments in old town Quebec City - La Continental was by far the best. Don't miss it-from a special ceasar salad to the flaming cherry jubilee-every aspect of the dining experience was superb!

Overall, our experience was very positive & special! Our waiter was a bit too much impressed with himself. More modesty would havre been more appropriate. Caesar salad was too mustardy for my palate & lettuce could have been crisper. Finally, sirloin with mustard was cooked very nicely(med-rare) & sauce was delicious.

We recently had the privilege of dining at Le Continental, an esteemed restaurant nestled in the historic heart of Quebec City, Canada. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the old-world charm, accentuated by waitstaff donned in crisp white tuxedo jackets, who skillfully prepared many dishes right at our table. The evening commenced with a classic Negroni, a harmonious blend of gin, Campari, & sweet vermouth, artfully garnished with an orange peel. Alongside it, an extra dry vodka martini provided a sophisticated start to our culinary journey. The first act of this gastronomic ballet was the Salade Cesar, a Caesar salad for two, prepared tableside. The spectacle of its creation was as impressive as the salad itself. The server deftly combined egg yolk, olive oil, chopped anchovies, garlic, & Worcestershire sauce, among other ingredients, to craft what might just be the finest Caesar salad I've ever tasted. Truly a masterpiece in a bowl. Next, we delved into the Bisque de homard parfumẽe Au Cognac, a lobster bisque infused with a hint of cognac. It was a delightful departure from the traditional New England lobster bisque I'm accustomed to, offering a unique texture & flavor profile that was both surprising & satisfying. The pièce de résistance was the Boeuf Wellington Au foie gras poêlé, duxelle de champignons & sauce Périgourdine. This dish, a symphony of seared foie gras, mushroom duxelles, & Périgourdine sauce, elevated the classic Wellington beef to new heights. We paired it with a broiled lobster tail, creating an exquisite surf & turf that was both indulgent & memorable. Although the dessert offerings were tempting, we concluded our meal with signature cappuccinos, a perfect ending to an extraordinary dining experience. Le Continental is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary institution that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking fine dining excellence. Their ability to blend tradition with innovation is truly "très magnifique!"

I liked the Ceasar Salad & Shrimp Cocktail very much. The wine was excellent. I didn't enjoy the Chateaubriand as much because of the very rich butter fondue it was cooked in.
