The best bistro cuisine! Fantastic food, inspired decor, a service fed by passion for the profession and a unique location - the antiques district, boutique hotels and art galleries. The table is set for Scalded the French bistro hippest part of Quebec. Chef Jean-François Girard presents an innovative and contemporary approach to cooking "Bistro" with a lunch menu varies each day and taking its source in the different seasonal products from the greater Quebec City area. Add to that a wine list with over 400 references carefully selected by our sommelier, Guillaume Blanchette, who will at the same time, advise you that unique bottle that will make you smile or the glass of wine that will marry perfectly with your meal . Excellent du début à la fin. Un service impeccable & courtois. Un tartare de saumon qui sort de l'ordinaire par sa fraîcheur. Un boudin noir qui sort lui aussi de l'ordinaire par sa finesse & sa tendreté. À manger à la fourchette. Probablement le meilleur que j'ai jamais mangé

The best part of L'Echaude is the management & wait staff. The restaurant was packed with a huge combined party & the food was a bit slow but well worth the wait. My Salmon Tartare was wonderful. Also, had a nice bit of cheese to end the meal. Yet, our food manager/wait person was elegant, warm & helpful. This is modern French & I could discern that the restaurant is a draw for both locals & out of towners as well as business folks.

Restaurant ambiance & service was fabulous. Wine list is extremely good!! Had dinner for 2 & food was just alright nothing extraordinary. Beef tartare was standout dish but strip loin was just average with too much gristle, too much mushroom & not a lot of flavour ..

The tuna appetizer was good but needed a sauce. The beef tartare was very good, but my fries were a bit greasy. The sugar pie was good but not great. The service was excellent. I did get charged for a second coke when I asked for a refill—that doesn't happen in the U.S.

Expérience décevante; on nous a d'abord servi de l'eau tiède qui était probablement restée sur la terrasse un certain temps, mais bon, ce n'est que de l'eau. La suite n'est guère mieux. Le contre-filet servi à mon conjoint est caoutchouteux, & sans saveur. Mon tartare de boeuf, que j'ai demandé bien relevé, ne l'est pas. Il y a des morceaux de boeuf très grossiers difficiles à mastiquer. Mes frites sont tièdes...donc, repas on ne peut plus décevant. Seul point positif, le serveur est sympathique & conscient de notre déception. Il a compensé notre insatisfaction en nous offrant le dessert gratuitement. Ces derniers étaient bons.

Excellent! The only thing is the brunch menu. Only one breakfast item. Not everyone wants to start their day eating salmon tartare.
