Poutineville is widely recognized as a top destination in Quebec City for those seeking a diverse and authentic poutine experience. The restaurant offers a vast menu with extensive customization options, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that cater to many dietary needs. Most visitors find the portion sizes to be very generous, often suggesting that sharing a junior or regular size is a great way to enjoy the meal. While the environment and service can vary depending on how busy the restaurant is, many guests frequently praise the staff for being friendly, attentive, and helpful with menu recommendations. Whether visitors are trying poutine for the first time or are seasoned enthusiasts, the flavorful gravy, fresh fries, and quality ingredients make this a highly recommended stop for anyone exploring the area.
Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing meals I've had recently. The fries had a strong burnt-oil taste, suggesting the frying oil needed to be changed. The gyro sandwich lacked the flavor & texture expected from a gyro & was more comparable to a simple deli-style sandwich.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant & would not return
A great place to enjoy poutine, especially if you're visiting the area & want to try a local favorite. The taste was good & satisfying, although I wouldn't consider it the best poutine I've ever had. The fries portion felt a little smaller than expected, but the generous serving of vegetables & other toppings helped balance the meal & added extra flavor & texture.
The atmosphere & location are definitely among the highlights of this place. It's a comfortable spot to relax & enjoy your food, with a pleasant overall vibe. The drinks are somewhat expensive, but that's understandable given the location & ambiance. Overall, it offers a good dining experience with decent food, a nice environment, & is worth a visit if you're nearby.
It was a rainy day & this place was right across the street from our hotel so I went over & got a large Philly cheese steak submarine sandwich with fries to go. Great service & the sandwiches were absolutely delicious, my wife & I shared this & there was enough for later!

Our first place to visit after arriving at our hotel last week. The poutines were just so so believe it or not (Cochon Dingue are smaller, but taste better). Also, the'nachos' were not tortilla chips, & that's not clear in the menu. Also, service was slow & staff wasn't super friendly.
It is the best poutine restaurant. The real potato fries are fried to perfection. The gravy tastes so good. Too many other restaurants fry the fries too brown. My favorite is Philly beef & cheese poutine. If you have a big appetite, then get the mega size. You get a really satisfying meal. The cosmo ros? drink is great. The service is fast & wonderful. We will come back here again.
Took out food to go on a late Saturday night. Looked busy still for 8:45pm. We were greeted well, got our order in, & was out the door 20 minutes later.
Ordered their deluxe burger with fries, classic poutine, & a kids burger with fries. Food was good & decently priced. Would recommend if you're looking for well-priced eats.
I was on a group trip here in Quebec, & one day me & a group of friends decided to come here for lunch, it wasn't busy at all, however many from our group came here which is why it was packed. I understand this location is understaffed, however it is no reason to give terrible service & lie to us. We waited 30 minutes to have our order taken, & as a group we needed to be at a place by 1:10pm (we arrived at about 12pm). We were getting iffy about whether or not we would be getting our food on time, & other people from our group tried to leave, to get food somewhere else, & quicker. However our server PROMISED we would get our food on time & we could eat. We order after awhile getting more nervous by the minute however our server reassured us we would have time to eat, & it came to 1pm. We still did not receive our food & it was about a 7 minutes walk to the place we needed to go to, my group & I were panicking, & when we finally received our money, we needed to quickly pay with cash & run to the spot we needed to be at. We were very late & I am very disappointed. I had gotten a poutine & no fork to go, it was raining & I had no time to eat, & the water got in my to go container so I threw it out. My food was 33$ in total which went to the trash & I went my day with lunch, & to mention, my friend didn't even get what she ordered, but it was too late when we realized. With the service I had gotten at this location, I will remember to never come back, as I don't even think I should've payed for this.
Got a poutine & a burger (with fries). The fries that came with the burger were the worst fries I've ever paid for. I didn't even eat that stuff, it was gross. Burnt & soggy.
Poutine was fine, though, probably because the gravy covered those issues. But yes, I'm sorry to say this but I'll not come back & wouldn't recommend people to go there.
Stick to the poutine as its excellent with fresh cut fries, very flavorful gravy & nice sized cheese curds. Pulled pork & smoked meat are average. Very casual deco
Reserved a table here well in advance of our visit post-Christmas. The restaurant was super busy when we arrived & there were lots of walk-ins who were waiting for tables (& some of them were not at all happy when we were seated!)
The service was friendly, & the food arrived to the table in excellent time given how busy the place was. The portions of poutine are a very good size & neither of us could completely finish what we had ordered, but it was fresh & tasty.
Ultimately one of the best value meals we had during our trip to Quebec. Recommended.
