Not sure if it was because we chose the vegetarian options, but all the items we ordered were subpar in taste. Not the highly rated experience we were expecting.
Vegetarian poutines were not great at all...their veg burger was not at all spicy or flavorful... unfortunately did not enjoy their food although everyone was super nice

Reserved a table here well in advance of our visit post-Christmas. The restaurant was super busy when we arrived & there were lots of walk-ins who were waiting for tables (& some of them were not at all happy when we were seated!)
The service was friendly, & the food arrived to the table in excellent time given how busy the place was. The portions of poutine are a very good size & neither of us could completely finish what we had ordered, but it was fresh & tasty.
Ultimately one of the best value meals we had during our trip to Quebec. Recommended.
Nous arrivons dans ce restaurant & toutes les places sont déjà prises. La dame de l'accueil nous dit gentiment que l'on peut s'asseoir & dès qu'une table se libère, elle nous placera. Nous nous asseyons donc juste devant le comptoir de l'accueil. & on attend. 10, 20, 30 minutes passent, en voyant défiler des gens qui sont placés avant nous (nous pensions qu'ils avaient réservé). Au bout d'un long moment, je décide d'aller parler à la dame pour lui demander si elle savait combien de temps ça pourrait encore prendre, & elle me répond'ah mais on a de la place, je vous avais oublié'. Nous étions littéralement sous ses yeux & elle n'arrêtait pas de nous regarder. Je veux bien que la restauration soit difficile, mais il ne faut quand même pas se payer notre tête.
Sinon, la poutine était très bonne & bien généreuse.
Une bonne poutine oui! Mais un service horrible, épouvantable ! Une personne vraiment incompétente ! Pas d'eau , un jus renversé , pas de couvert . Mon mari avait commandé une croustillante , elle est arrivée sans oignon. En demandant à la serveuse incompétente elle me dit qu'elle oui il y en a plus ! & bien alors il faudrait demander par quoi remplacer ou prévenir ….Cela a rendu notre expérience vraiment mauvaise … nous n y retournerons plus & nous ne conseillerons pas !
We got lucky & got seated right away. If we happen to arrive 15-30 later we would've had to be in the waiting list.
I ordered fillet mignon poutine & it was amazing! However my husband's burger (the spicy something) was basic.
Best poutine I've had in Canada! Although it is poutine chain, it has excellent reputation on staff services. Tried the Quebec style poutine, which was a delightful blend of flavors that made each bite interesting, also fantastic with a bit favor of maple syrup. The location near Old Quebec City Hall is perfect, & there are plenty of poutine options to choose from. Highly recommended!
While the food was good, how the server reacted when we paid left a bitter taste. Our table paid split bills, & while we did tip, my friend decided not to. The server called us out saying'I don't know how it is where you're from, not tipping is disrespectful', added that by doing so they had to pay it out of their pocket to serve us.
1. This is unacceptable as we paid for our meals, hearing this feels like we begged for the food. We're disappointed & the good food wasn't worth the hassle.
2. We understand tipping is important, as it's also expected we're from, Ontario. However, it should be considered based on the overall experience. It is not our job to make sure the servers are paid properly on top of paying for the food. It is also our hard earned money.
I noticed that many customers had a similar experience on your Google Reviews. Despite the polite replies, I don't think you've reconsidered or talked to the staff team about this issue.
