Jean-francios G was a delight as a server as a culinary guide & as a human being. My wife & I came to the chateau Frontenac over Thanksgiving & we ate at this restaurant the first day we were there & the last day before we left. I can't say enough about how genuine informative & kind Jean Francois was as he took care of us during both meals. Further the head chef took us into the cheese & caviar room & with patient informative & charming. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food was spectacular. The vegetarian courses, the meat courses, the wagyu steak, the amuse-bouche were amazing. You cannot go wrong trusting this fine establishment for your culinary & libation needs. Thank you

Wow what a disappointment. We started off strong with the hostess & she was very sweet & gracious. I was expecting a truly wonderful dining experience. That's not what I got. The server had a horrible time explaining the menu & was only sharing what he would have to charge more for. He brought us a cracker to start with that was terrible, then brought us water, never asked if we wanted lemons or ice & not once during the 3 hours we were there did he refill the glass. Then we were brought some tasteless bread, I make bread every week & this was not very good. He finally asked my husband if he wanted a drink, left without asking me & I finally got one about 20 minutes later. Our main courses were done very well, even after waiting over 1 hour for them. The plates once we had finished were left in front of us for another 30 minutes even after I put my napkin on top of the plate he continued to walk by us. He apologized at the end & blamed the kitchen for all the bad service. I would not recommend it, it's a lot of hype terrible service. The manager was no where to be found when we left or I would have said something.

We stayed at the Chateau & booked dinner for two at La Champlain Restaurant. We ordered the seasonal prefix menu & everything was delicious. Best to be seated by the window if it's for lunch & best to be by the fireplace with the chandeliers for dinner. Great atmosphere & Jean-Pierre was an amazing waiter. Highly recommended!!!

Nous étions 14 pour une occasion spéciale. Nous avons été rencontré au préalable (mon mari & moi) afin de choisir les vins & préciser nos particularités. Nous avons été servi comme des rois & reines. Nous devions cependant faire répéter l'explication des assiettes par les serveurs parce que nous n'entendions pas bien à l'autre bout de la table. Notre cadre était parfait. La mise en bouche (foie gras) est exquise! Les plats étaient délicieux & ont plus à toutes les convives. Nous avons hâte d'y retourner.

The whole package. Dining at le Champlain had the 3 things I look for overall in a top notch restaurant; great food & great service all wrapped in an incredible & unique experience. This was not my first time dining in a castle & when compared with my time at the restaurant in Carcassonne many years ago, it has some catching up. However, in terms of my various dining experiences in other locations, it was fantastic. We had the 4 course wine pairing & it was definitely enough to make us full. From the flavour to the plating, all top notch. Our servers were friendly & attentive. The overall experience went above & beyond by offering several items not described on the menu. Ones such as a box of chocolates in which you get to keep the nice jewelry box. Finally, you're experiencing all this in a historic castle in a historic centre, surrounded by a mix of new & old world luxury.

We truly thought we would have an extraordinary experience, but I was not impressed. Our server was magnificent, but the expediers were not invested in filling our senses with a description of the food being brought to our table. For the price, the 4 of us were disappointed.

Nous y avons brunché ce dimanche. Endroit magnifique. Personnel courtois, sympathique & attentionné. Grand choix de nourriture. Nourriture très bonne.
